Moyes will still f@ck it up in the next round Red , and in the league for the rest of season ... this win just shows how low his management of the Champions has dragged the team down ... if anything this is a victory for the players , nothing more than that

That just made me shudder. Even Bale v evra would have made me brick it.

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Uefa Champions League Thread
The elimination against the Olimpiakos would have been the final hurt by Moyes.
Only the pride of United players has avoided the last work of destructive Moyes.
The pride, that that was missed in these last matches , the pride teared to pieces by Moyes ,this pride has been revised in the eyes of van Persie. A ghost in last EPL match , a leader today , which further demonstrated that it is mostly a question of motivations. Motivations easily findable in these matches, a whole different story during a long league expecially if your coach is " I don't have what I am doing"
It is a wretched season and probably this match won't will not be a decisive swerve for the season , but at least you avoided the elimination against a scrub club and it has been restored for a day pride and dignity to the United severely torn by Moyes
a breath of fresh air and now in CL que sera sera.. probably it' s the first time noone rates United for the final win and so you'll have less pressure...
p.s. a question, why Vidic neither on bench? It's a choice as signal for the future or injure? excuse me if I ask often about him

Good post mate ... totally agree with you , the players pulled it out of the bag tonight , not Moyes , The thing is, we have to hope our board is able to look beyond a good game here or there. If they can't, it's hopeless anyway.

Has De Gea beaten Rooney to being our best player so far? I think so. He has been incredibly consistent.

I actually kinda want Real Madrid. We'll probably go out and I want Ronaldo to do well. So playing us, will give him a good chance to go to the semis.

He's been our best player this season. Unstoppable if our defence don't always let him down. Has saved us from a hammering so many times this season.

I think you will have a good chance of going through against Dortmund, injuries to many of their key players and suspension for Lewa, no better time to face them than now. PSG is another team realistically you can through against, then there is chelsea you have experience playing. it is not the be all end all trust me, as bad as United have played this season it does not mean they will bow out to any of these teams.
you will probably find it hard against Bayern, Barca, Real and Atleti but the rest I am pretty sure it will be extremely close if you were to go out

I know it's the league, but we haven't beaten a top half team this season apart from Arsenal. We'll struggle against everyone. I'm not blinded by the Olympiakos game. Firstly, it was the most 50-50 3-0 I've ever seen. Secondly, we needed a penalty/set piece to start our scoring like we did against West Brom and Palace. We didn't create many clear cut chances. Finally, it was the same performance we usually put in, but at a faster pace.

We are gonna get our arses torn wide open in front of millions.
The way I look at it, everyone expects us to lose. If we win, victory would be the sweetest thing we've tasted in years.

We played Chelsea, we signed Mata. We play Bayern, we sign Kroos
Hans, is shitting himself. Only reason Kroos didn't come in January, because Bayern Munich were protecting themselves for this.

I like that theory. I like that theory a lot.
I'm trying to think one advantage we could have over them, just one simple glimpse of hope for us, but I simply can't.
Pep is going to tactically school Moyes and his band of amateurs. Pep's Barca schooled us in 2 finals. This man knows how to beat us and outplay us comprehensively. It's not going to be pretty.
Moyes' only mechanism is to play ultra defensively. He is going to sh*t himself. He hasn't faced a team of this calber before.
We don't even have the small mercy of playing the 1st leg away

Moyes is so negative, he's already planning how to win on penalties

Nah, this Bayern is different to Pep's Barca. I think we'd have had a chance with SAF. No disrespect to Bayern, but Xavi just killed us.

The problem is, our team doesn't know how to park the bus, we're built to attack. Even in the dying stages of matches when we're winning, and Moyes gets us to sit back like Southampton, Sunderland, Cardiff etc. we've struggled and we always concede those late goals. Against Olympiakos we started to look shaky late on too.
If we can't do it in the last 30 mins against relegation fodder, I don't know how we'll do it over 180 mins against Bayern. It's damage limitation, I guess. Which is a shame.

Exactly my thoughts, BB. He will set us up defensively, but we would still struggle because our defence is bad and we have no midfield protection. It's another case of us might aswell just going for it. We have nothing to lose and are massive underdogs. If we get battered, atleast we did so having a go.
But we all know how much of a coward Moyes is...

I really hope he's sacked before we play them. What are we waiting for? I'd be shocked if some of the board members don't expect a trashing, it's like we're self-harming.

Losses to WH and City and you never know...
I still believe Giggs was the sole reason we played the way we did v Olympiakos the other night. If he were to take over from Moyes till the summer, as a player/coach type role, it will give us a massive boost for the rest of the season, and especially this tie. Not saying it will mean we'll win against Bayern, but it will give us a much better challenge of competing against them.
