Losses to WH and City and you never know...
I still believe Giggs was the sole reason we played the way we did v Olympiakos the other night. If he were to take over from Moyes till the summer, as a player/coach type role, it will give us a massive boost for the rest of the season, and especially this tie. Not saying it will mean we'll win against Bayern, but it will give us a much better challenge of competing against them.

Apparently, it was in The Times, that Giggs went over to Moyes and told him to bring on Fletch because we were getting over ran in midfield. Rooney also said the players amongst themselves had a crisis talk.
Also, for Hans, when he enters this thread. #trashtalk before we get schooled

From Wayne Rooney
He's right, that's how we play.
We have to. That's been part of our DNA over the years I've been here – that intensity, that running off the ball, the pace we play at," the striker said. "It's a big part of the way we play and it showed that when we do that to teams it's difficult for them to stop us.

Spot on Rooney. But for the love of God, I wish they would ignore Moyes and put that much effort and desire to every match. Their lax approach to previous games lets me know they are not playing for Moyes, because as they've shown on Wednesday, when they're up for it, they can put a shift in and get a good result.
Watching them the other night reminded me of what I was missing. Seems like a lifetime ago that we played with such intensity.

Dat smugness. That is a wonderful quote, a 100% real too.

He's become a parody of himself. The guy is such a joke
It was just OLYMPIAKOS you clueless so and so. Just shows how desperate he was to get any type of win against any cannon fodder side. I bet he's watched the game every night repeatedly these last couple of days lol.
I can't believe I just read what I did.

as a matter of fact we played with a similar tempo against leverkusen in germany.
And I see a pattern there. Whenever moyes is under fire and hoping for a sure defeat (well, before the kick off leverkusen were favourites in that match) he would hide in the closet and let giggsy take over I suppose and do the team talk (remember in the leverkusen match also giggs was the difference). Team responds and responds remarkably (despite the fact that it were against mediocre teams on both occasions its worth some credit, not many teams and certainly not many teams playing like we have been playing this season can come form behind and overturn a 0-2 deficit, also we have lost to far more mediocre teams in the league and other competitions already ) players genuinely respect and show the desire when giggs 'manages' the team. It was evident players were playing for him, not for the clown. Our players simply refused to play the way moyes usually wants them to play. and it paid dividends.
Its a great sign. 2 loses in the next 2 games is certain. And I hope giggs will be appointed the coach after that and if so, a strong finish is on the cards to the wretched season.

RvP is out 4-6 weeks. Blessing in disguise? Remember his misses against Real Madrid, CL is not really his stage against the big teams. We either play Kagawa-Rooney or we can play Welbeck-Rooney. Welbeck will also do a good defensive job. I'd rather Kagawa-Rooney and Welbeck on the left. Buttner needs as much defensive cover as possible.

Blessing in disguise indeed. Mata behind Rooney (not a chance Gollum would play Kagawa), Welbeck on the left and Januzaj on the right.

Mata is cup-tied, mate.
Btw, Nani is back in the squad. Another plus, now for Moysie to get sacked so we can at least give them a run for their money.

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Uefa Champions League Thread
Ooh my bad, I forgot this was the CL thread for a min. In that case, the obvious choice would be to have Kagawa behind Rooney, but Moyes hates his guts...
I would play Welbeck up top, have Rooney play behind and be the link between our Midfield and attack. Januzaj on the left? He doesn't track back enough and Buttner would need all the help he can get....the other option is Young...but that will mean such a lack of threat from the left hand side.
This is why I think if Moyes can step aside his grudge with Kagawa, he could play Welbeck on the left. Welbeck puts in a shift and has that pace that could be of use to us when we counter. Then we could play Januzaj or Valencia on the right.

Don't know if Nani's head is in it anymore. The guy has been out for ages without any updates given by Moyes. He was out bowling the other night the exact same time Utd played Olympiakos.
I dunno man...the whole thing is a mess atm. But if he could get his down and work hard, he would be so vital for us. He's streets ahead of Val and Young when it comes to talent.

I think it would best for all of your's health to just watch Barca vs Atletico instead of Bayern/Man Utd.

Nah, buddy. Sorry, I just have to believe, it's irrational, we'll most likely get trashed, we'll be probably concede 6 penalties, Rafael will get sent-off but we have to believe.

I think he still wants to be here, just not for Moyes. I don't know, really. I won't blame him if he leaves, tbh. Great servant.

the idea of seeing alexander 'superman' buttner in the lb role is sending shivers down my spinal cod . I would rather we use a makeshift lb or use rafael on the left rather than bumner.
or we can even use something like this
--------------de gea------------
------smalling--vidic--evans------
rafael---------------------welbeck
-------giggsy--jones--carrick-----
--------------kagawa------------
--------------rooney-------------
if moyes go with a 4-4-2 . its gonna be a huge LOL.

He's mentally challenged.
I'm going to be fuming if he doesn't start Kagawa after he subbed him off early v Villa.
There is no point in playing defensively. If we do, we're gonna get battered. If we are to get beaten by a superior team, might aswell go down having given it a go.
My team:
DDG
Rafael?
Vidic
Jones
Buttner
Welbeck
Fellaini
Carrick
Januzaj
Kagawa
Rooney

Good team that. Fast runs can trouble us, without a doubt.
But you know that Giggs will start, right?
I mean it's simple: CL, experience, 1999, Olympiakos, Giggs. You can see the wheels turning in Moysie's head.

I have a feeling Giggs will start. Moyes will look to him for experience.
btw, I remember that goal by Robben. Great strike.
