Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
There are other factors for the inflated price which haven't been spoken about yet: 1) You won't ever have to worry about Bale getting tired from international duty because it's highly unlikely the Welsh national team is ever qualifying for the Euro's or World Cup; and 2) you will never have to sub out Bale due to his pace and gas tank. So you are essentially gaining a tactical advantage for your manager by playing him because he doesn't ever have to waste a sub on him baring injury.
I disagree, he is horrible with his right foot in terms of finishing. If Bale had a good right foot he would of scored over 40 goals last season in the EPL.
I watched every Spurs game last season, and the number of chances he missed with his right foot borders on the ridiculous. I wonder what his conversion percentage is by foot, I have a feeling with his left he has an elite conversion rate, but his overall number is probably dragged down by all his muffed chances with his right.
However, this is why I think the ceiling is so high for Bale because he is already a borderline world class player, and he still has room to improve which is hard to say for most players at his level. Neymar is as good as he's going to get, but Bale is hardly a finished product. You think he can't learn anything having a guy like Zidane helping him get better?
sportsczy wrote:That's not true at all anymore. I remember at least 7 or 8 of his goals being right footed last year and some of them from distance. He's pretty good with his right foot now.McAgger wrote:Also don't forget he's even worse than Robben when it comes to being one footed. He barely touches the ball with his right foot at all.

Ancelotti's a big fan of him and said yesterday he wanted to keep him.

you wont though , thats the thing. counter attacks are easy to stop if the opposition club plays it right.

Counter-attacking can still be possible with possession football.

Why do people think Di Maria is so shit. He's not a bad player at all.

he's the best winger in the world by far in top form, but he is in top form 5 matches per year and 3 of them for Argentina
his decision making is very bad, and his passing is worse than Albiol's(he showed signs of improvement this pre-season)

I was so deceived going into the season, he carried Madrid in the pre-season last year.

You really think Di Maria, even on top form, is "by far" better than Ribery...come on now.

He has more then 5 good matches a year. He's a left winger who's being played on the right

I've learned to ignore a certain segment of real madrid fans on this board... please don't think their opinions represent the opinions of all the real madrid fan base lol.

It seems like Madrid will offer 100m plus a player and Spurs will be ready to accept that, or so suggest AS.

Carlo: "Whatever happens, Modric will be with us next season." It's going to be either Di Maria or Coentrao. My guess is Di Maria if he accepts. It gives them a replacement for the position.

I doubt it's a one lump sum payment. Probably over 4-5 years...

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
I think The Guardian said it could be Morata. I don't think either of Di Maria or Coentrao want to switch to Tottenham. Tbh I'd be surprised if there's a player involved at all, it's just so big a step down for them.

Yeah I really doubt that any player swaps will be involved.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
€97.5 million for Bale? I wonder if Madrid are going to sell their training ground to the local council again for €400m to balance the books. Only to be given it back free at a later date. Subsidised by EU money that European citizens paid in with their taxes. So much for Financial Fair Play. Madrid are a massive club not only because of their former glory but also because they are propped up by dodgy sources.
Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga

That deal was investigated by an EU commissioned third party and nothing out of the ordinary was found. If you think Real Madrid has the EU in it's pocket then fair enough but bringing up that deal as some sort of proof is just playa hatin' at this point.
Madrid have broken even so far in the transfer market. Money coming in has matched money going out so far. That means our yearly transfer budget is pretty much untouched lol

I don't care about the finances(Perez is the best ffs), but I'm afraid of Ronaldo's reaction at this transfer.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
You wonder how the two big clubs in Spain have so much money when the whole country is in such a mess (and going downhill). Surely not by selling Fatzema shirts.
