I just read here about Bojan being loaned to Ajax. As much as like you all I would have preferred a sale this does seem the best possible opportunity for the kid but also a last chance saloon. If he cannot make it at Ajax with Frank De Boer then perhaps he is destined never to make it.

If Thiago leaves we should sign Gundogan. We have no one else with Xavi's characteristics and no one here thinks Xavil will have a great upcoming season.

You are in luck... according to Sport he is the target should Thiago leaves.

I highly doubt we will sign anyone. Especially with Cesc in the mix.

Selling Thiago because we can't garantee him enough playtime because of Xavi : OK but going after Gundogan ? No way a player like him is going to be benched. Therefore my opininion is that thiago is not trusted enough yet,

I wonder if playing next to the great Cleverly is going to hinder his growth lol. I mean next to Kagewa infront of him, that midfield of Man Utd is pretty weak compared to who he was playing next to to and learning next to, with us. Not even close. I wish him all the well, but I hope he doesn't come back like Cesc

If we cannot sign T.Silva do you guys actually think we will sign a centre back? Do you think signing any centre back we have been linked with will help us? For example Inigo Martinez who most of us don't rate, do you think if we sign him that he would be a better prospect than Mascherano, Bartra, Adriano, Puyol etc. ?

I have the upmost confidence we will sign a centerback, even if it's not Thiago Silva. Scratch that, it's not the upmost confidence, but I do think we will.

It's just...too obvious. But this club has done worse things in the past.

I think we have more pressing needs.A CB or even 2 are an absolute must.We can hold off not buying a CM for a year even with Thiago gone.Cant hold off on the CB signings.
I think we should give JDS and Roberto a chance.JDS has been patient and loyal(some might say foolish) and there was a time when he was considered Xavi's successor.I think he has quality.Granted he has missed out on 2 years by staying with us and isn't as far along as a player his age should be.But I think with Thiago gone,and him being given more responsibility,could turn into the player he was meant to be.Very slim chance but he deserves a chance.Then there is Roberto.I don't rate him but he is highly rated by everyone at the club.I haven't heard as much praise for Thiago even that I have heard for Roberto from those within the club.So the kid is obviously special.
So CM can be put off for a while.But if we do sign,wouldnt look at Gundogan.Dont think he is that great.Just the flavor of the season.If we are looking for someone experienced,then I would look at Banega.Has discipline issues and a lot of attitude problems but would suit our game.And if we looking for midfielders who have played well against us,he is top of the list.Always plays brilliant against us and the only midfielder to outplay Xavi over the past few years.Could be worth a shot.
If we are looking for someone young,then I would go for Verratti.Extremely impressive player and would thrive in our system and under the tutelage of Xavi and Iniesta.

If Thiago leaves then we also have a need of getting a back up for Xavi. I don't believe Sergi is that person and Jona is obviously leaving.

But yes, if Thiago some how stays, then the real only need is a defense. Thiago leaves, and it adds more to our troubles of what we need.

okay,i just wanna say that thiago leaving will be officially announced shortly and be prepared for him leaving and don't be happy when some false rumour of him not leaving arrives. Neymar has been given the number 11 and thiago was not there in some important club photo which can only mean his departure. Just wondering when we sign a decent cb and who??

if T. Silva is not for us.....i can think only aged experienced CBs. no more future talent please.....would prefer Nesta than a future talent.....

Hope he doesn't leave but I don't think it's the case and the club doesn't seem to be doing absolutely nothing to keep him and nowhere it has been said that they are offering him a new contract. It's like Rosell doesn't care at all about thiago.

As I have said before if there is even one more midfielder I would purchase for the present Barca then that is Gundogan. Yet here the main point is that since Thiago is supposedly leaving because he doesn't expect to get enough minutes, from where do we give enough minutes to Gundogan even more considering that he right now is a more established player than Thiago???

Agree 100%. I read a blood boiling tidbit that the club are waiting for him to let them know his plans rather than offering him a new contract. For someone who is in a dilemma whether to stay or leave there surely couldn't have been a better way to help him make up his mind.
