Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 6
WWE is just so much more entertaining, even though they're real
I watch UFC but real or not, there's only so much enjoyment to be had from two guys grappling on the floor and not doing much
As for Boxing. I watch the big fights. But again, even the most exciting matches are often Meh.

And whenever they come to the UK it's sold out just like in America.

Yeh they are, however it's not really as popular as it was in the attitude era. Although that could be said for the entire world.
Mainly due to it being PG, Cena, lack of entertaining superstars like the Rock, Austin at their peak etc etc.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 6
Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett were scheduled to have a lengthy match on last night's RAW but it was nixed because the promo segment with Paul Heyman and CM Punk went around 4 minutes too long. Instead of cutting Bryan vs. Barrett short, officials decided to nix the match and give Rob Van Dam vs. Chris Jericho more time.
Van Dam and Jericho went around 22 minutes and were originally scheduled for a 14 minute match.

JR thinks Bryan can beat Cena:
John Cena picking Daniel Bryan to face him at SummerSlam: "John Cena picked the only man that he should have logically picked, in my opinion, for the main event for the WWE Title bout at Summer Slam and that was the red hot Daniel Bryan. I will not be surprised if DB beats Cena in LA as that outcome would be HUGE in WWE-land and significantly re-shuffle the deck. Plus, MITB winner Randy Orton is obviously and largely in play no mater the main event's outcome as Orton could realistically leave Summer Slam as the WWE Champion no matter who wins the Cena-Bryan match."

As announced at the end of Raw, Daniel Bryan will take on John Cena for The WWE Title at SummerSlam. The match will be supported by footage that airs on the new E! Total Divas show, as Cena and Bryan are the boyfriends of Nikki and Brie Bella.
The McMahon family saga will play out around the match as well since Vince McMahon will be against Bryan getting the Title shot and Brad Maddox made it possible for him to get it.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 6
As noted earlier, Chris Jericho finished up his current WWE run at last night's SmackDown tapings. Jericho will start touring with Fozzy again from early August through mid October, with a brief break from August 19th - September 12th.
While there is always a possibly that he can return in late October, a return in early 2014 seems more likely. The timing would coincide nicely with Jericho's plans to release his next book in February 2014.
____________________________________________________________
When news leaked last week of WWE's plans to do an angle where John Cena let the WWE fans pick Daniel Bryan as his SummerSlam opponent, WWE officials went ahead and did the angle on this week's RAW. It was originally planned to happen a few weeks from now, closer to when Total Divas aired. The feeling at RAW was that they wanted to put the official SummerSlam main event out there as early as possible.
The decision to have Randy Orton win Money in the Bank goes back two or three weeks. WWE officials felt they should do it because nobody would see an Orton win coming. One of the reasons Orton has lost a lot lately is because they felt they needed to "bring him down to build him back up."

Big Show will be returning on Monday's RAW.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 6
I can see show getting Wyatted on his return.
Makes perfect sense
People would be focused on him
He's not in a feud, not saying him getting jumped would give him a feud, but they are jumping people who aren't in the middle of a storyline atm.
He's just flat out big, and jumping him would give them some more recognition.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 6
According to The Wrestling Observer, word going around WWE is that the current plan for SummerSlam has Daniel Bryan defeating John Cena for the WWE Title, only to see Randy Orton cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, take the WWE Title and finally make his long-awaited heel turn.
It's possible WWE announces the Randy Orton neck injury on RAW and keep him off TV for a few weeks, that way his cash in at SummerSlam will be more of a surprise.
Another sign that Orton will be cashing in at SummerSlam is that as of this week, there is no Bryan vs. Cena rematch planned for September's Night of Champions pay-per-view.

Mark Henry signs 3 year deal with WWE.
________________________________________________________
At one point, Curtis Axel vs. Daniel Bryan was going to take place at SummerSlam. The two will likely wrestle on RAW or SmackDown in the next few weeks.
____________________________________________________________
Besides CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar and Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena for the WWE Title, other matches in the works for SummerSlam include:
* Kane vs. Bray Wyatt
* Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow with the briefcase on the line
* Big E Langston vs. Dolph Ziggler
* A Divas match on the pre-show
The Shield will be doing something with Mark Henry and The Usos and if not, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro. Keep in mind none of these matches, except for Lesnar vs. Punk and Bryan vs. Cena, are confirmed.

Batista is not returning to WWE any time soon and if he did, it would be in early 2014 for WrestleMania season. One person close to Batista noted to The Wrestling Observer that he's not going to return at all if he's got anything going on for early 2014 with new movies, because that's his line of work and priority now.
The Undertaker is currently recovering from shoulder surgery and will not be at SummerSlam. It's doubtful he will be back until his usual pre-WrestleMania return. Taker's shoulder issues are said to be pretty bad at this stage of the game.
WrestleMania XXX would mark 11 years since Steve Austin last wrestled a match. WWE has interest in Austin working the event, if he wants to work it and can get medically cleared. There has been an idea discussed for Austin vs. Triple H with the control of WWE at stake. Austin would be representing Vince McMahon.

Batista was a superman face, but not as much as Cena. Towards the end he was a heel too.

Austin is a Paul Heyman guy, Punk is a Paul Hayman guy. Austin himself also mentioned quiet a few times that if he's still got one match left in him it's gonna be vs Punk
