He was brilliant but i'd personally give it Montolivo imo.Superb in defense holding up the ball in tight spaces when pressed and spraying accurate passes.Top draw performance from him.Although you could say there were many players who performed brilliantly today.

Villa should have played, was greatly missed. Instead this spanish Dalglish came up with a good idea to play Alexis flopchez.

Barcelona missed Tito. You can't go into a game like this without a proper manager. Goes without saying

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
I am so happy to see the wonderful Barcelona fans here give such an outstanding ovation to Milan. I will remember this.
At the moment I am too shocked and overwhelmed to clearly think as the impact of this match hasn't yet registered.
All I want to say is its great to share this victory with my Milanisti. Forza, Lascia, Spence, Jesp, Dante, Ninja, M31, MTD, Pusha and my man ES.
Seeing Massimiliano Allegri reward all the faith that I and his supporters have put into him is nothing short of joy.
We may not go through, but god damn I will remember this victory.

Yup. When a Scottish team does it, it rings a bell that you need to change. Barcelona didn't listen. They stuck to their "philosophy" without evolving with football.Lex wrote:The end of Barcelona?
In fact I'm very glad football showed that possession whoring on its own is not only good, it actually is a self-destructible weapon. I'll be laughing hard at all of those blind idiots all night

Milan's defending was really impressive. Same as Juve's defense last week. Solid defense.

It is not a individual Barcelona miss. It are tactics. This tactic ALWAYS screws us over. Chelsea, Celtic, Real Madrid and now Milan. Even La Liga teams do this against us and that made us get a loss as well, and conceding goals 10 games in a row! We need a plan B. Roura is not up for this job. Needed to stay at Terrassa.

Messi was giving away more ball than Di Maria, complete turn over machine.

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
Never wrote off Milan for a second, referee gave Milan several wrong decisions which helped decide the game though, including the first goal which never should have never been given, i dont know how the referee missed that handball. That said, the better team won and it is a difficult situation barca are in now, made doubly more difficult by the refs "mistakes".
Cesc should never have played, if we dont learn from our mistakes we are doomed to repeat them

2 - Barcelona haven't lost by a 2-goal margin in a Champions League game since April 2010, also at the San Siro (vs Inter 1-3). Feat.

I don't wanna press the panic button, but Barca is out.
Good luck Barca scoring 3 against an Italian team fully capable of sitting back, absorbing pressure and hitting on the counter. Oh, and Barca should no longer play Puyol at the back against quick counter attacking teams. No offense to the guy, but he is not the guy he used to be. Boateng and Al Sharaway will run him into the ground...

Only one difference. This time, Barca were totally dominated and they barely created a chance to score.

that's because whenever he had the ball 3 or more player immediately went for him. Very hard not to lose the ball in those situations..

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona - aftermath
According to the Al-Jazzera refereeing expert, it is a correct decision to allow the handball.
I disagree, but who am I to question a refereeing expert.
On the game, I think Milan did their game plan perfectly. We defended well, and SES gave a lot of problems to Barca on the break. We were more dangerous and more effective with our possession.
Football once again proves to be a team effort, and with Montilivo at the top of his game we were effective with ball. We hoofed too many times, but it is understandable, especially since we started our defensive line in the middle and presses them throughout.
Muntari played the best game of his life, and that had a lot to do with today;s result. Zapate not fraking up was the reason we did not concede.
All in all this was a great game from our side.
