Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
It's funny how all of these people complaining about how COD supposedly re-cycle everything, re-cycle old, non existant complaints themselves

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
RG what i said there is from a reviewer lol not some random hater.... i almost copied the negative parts word for word.
They did praise the single player as well but cant be arsed to go back and watch it again to remember what it was apart from that its best CoD campaign apparently..

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
I read a Norwegian review on the campaign, and the author of the review put a lot of effort into emphasizing the fact that the Call of Duty series has not developed at all, in terms of giving the player freedom to not always follow the narrow road that is the typical CoD campaign. It has been mentioned many times before that they're basically holding your hand throughout their campaigns. They don't allow you to stray from the path that they designed for the players, and in the eyes of many international game reviewers, that seems to be a huge weakness. My favourite campaign, so far is still the Black Ops 2 campaign, where you could affect the story based on the choices that you made throughout it. It was still a typically linear CoD campaign, but at least they made some effort to give us more alternatives. I really liked that campaign, overall I liked the Ghosts campaign also, but someone told me that it was going to be 10 hours long... I finished it in about 6-7 hours.Tomwin Lannister wrote:There can be no doubting, this COD campaign is legit
Can't believe it got so much media hate. Like I said, now it's 'cool' to bash cod. Even in aspects that don't deserve it. Probably about half way through the campaign, and I don't know what else people are expecting from a war game. 8/10 maybe 8.5

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
It seems that people are expecting COD to do something that it's not wanting to do
The idea is you're a soldier and you are part of something bigger, the group. So I don't see lack of 'choices' as a weakness. Certainly not in a war game.
Haven't actually done the B ops II campaign yet, I'll get round to it soon.

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
Tom i get what you are saying but at the same time with that limited view point you are just restricting where you could take the series.
It probably does what it means to do very well but at the end of the day looking at like that its a very limited game design and thus will have flaws and not make it as enjoyable as it could be.
There's potential to do much more with it but while people don't care about single player they won't look to reinvent the wheel...
Plus reviewers are not exactly going to ignore that.

Looking forward to the sequel, I was wondering why it wouldn't let me properly aim to shoot Rourke underwater, turns out it's cause he aint supposed to die

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
Yeah, I personally don't mind the lack of freedom in CoD campaigns that much, but it wouldn't hurt to give us a few opportunities to not just follow the storyline on auto-pilot, but make a few choices of our own. I also think it was pretty neat how, in the Black Ops 2 campaign, you unlocked more weapons for future missions based on how you performed in the previous missions.

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
Well, let's get the fact that i am shit get out of the way first.
I think i will trade this PS3 version for cash instead of the PS4 version. I loved the campaign and enjoyed it far more than the multiplayer (hipsteRG).
Maybe i am too tired atm or something but i am not sure atm.
Or i am just a fifa addict.

Apparently the graphics etc are better on PS4 version. Plus it'll be the only next gen CoD, which is why I'm getting it.

It's not about that. Ghosts is a very good game. But it's just not for me. Thought i would be addicted to it since not playing any FPS in years. But i can't play anything other than fifa for long.

Don't think i'll be excited about Next gen till fall 2014. End of the year is always the best time for games.

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
Not only that, but the amount of players allowed on any of the game modes is too restricted, something that they have sorted out on the PS4 version. Personally, I'm struggling to enjoy this game. First of all, I suck at it. It's the first time in a CoD game that I feel like I am not in complete control of how well I perform, and I tend to get killed because my opponent(s) react faster than me or aim better... which I find funny, because I went through a medical check during the examination process for the military almost a decade ago, and the examiner told me that I had far above average reflexes, something that's been quite evident in past CoDs. I feel that I have quite good hand-to-eye coordination as well, but it sure doesn't seem like it in this game. I still get outgunned in Ghosts, because some opponents seem to react within milliseconds after spotting me - and in this game, you're screwed if you don't shoot first. Quickdraw is essential for winning 1v1s in Ghosts, and for that reason you can't easily turn the situation around by making the right decisions after getting shot at. It also limits the amount of perk combos you can use, if you intend to play aggressively.RealGunner wrote:They are far far too big.Yohan Modric wrote:Is it the style of Ghosts, like the maps etc?
I'm probably one of few people who have experienced this issue, but sensitivity 20 in Ghosts is not the same as sensitivity 10 in previous Modern Warfare games. I can't seem to aim properly on sensitivity 20, for some reason. I don't feel like I'm struggling to control my aim, but I still can't aim as fast and accurately as I want to. I've tried setting it down to 18 and 19, but they just don't feel right. Why couldn't they just keep it simple? The latency bar is gone. I have a habit of checking it every time it feels like I'm lagging, and it annoys me to no end that it's not there anymore. On the upside, they seem to have fixed the FPS drops that I experienced with lag, during the first few days of playing Ghosts. What frustrates me the most about this game, is that I keep getting killed by players that I feel are far inferior to me in every sense of the word, because the initial shot matters so much in this game. I've also experienced situations where I react first, and get lots of hits on target, but then the target turns around and kills me, as if he was using a burst weapon - this is probably the only thing that actually makes me rage quit

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts
I wouldn't have minded the size of the maps that much, if they hadn't been packed with small structures to hide behind, and if the game modes had allowed more players, so that I wouldn't have to actually look for them all the time. I really wish maps like Stonehaven had been more open, and not littered with small, ruined buildings and walls that people can hide behind and patiently wait for someone to appear in their line of sight :PGhosts is tempting me to become a more passive player. I prefer to play like an ADHD kid with diarrhea, so I'm one of those people who are victims of unpreferable map designs in Ghosts.RealGunner wrote:They are far far too big.Yohan Modric wrote:Is it the style of Ghosts, like the maps etc?
