Does sound a bit confusing.
But it's basically
-------------DM/CM---DM/CM
-------------------ACM
----RW-------------------------------LW
----------------------CF
Whereas usually, an AM would play:
------------------DM/CM---DM/CM
------RW----------------AM-------------LW
-------------------------CF

They are The same thing Mtfootball,
As for Cesc, we have enough AM's thanks Gil. Would much rather buy someone like Cabaye for the same kind of money.

I have said it before to my friends, no player will develop their game in Barcelona. I will elaborate a bit more in later posts.

Wanking yourselves silly over a meaningless win in a glorified friendly basically proves just how crap of a League La Liga is at the moment. Sunny SPL.
I would be very surprised if he watched football then, or even knew of this result before today.

He hasn't got the pace, skill, agility and dribbling to play AM(Iniesta, Ozil, Silva). He's more of a failed CM

P.S Fabregas played in the PL before he did in Inferior Liga
Also Cabaye is crap deep, you might as well sign Fabregas if you want Cabaye for that and Modric is not an attacking midfielder.

Re: Cesc isn't happy
Can we pelase cut the scrubs league this, scrub league that bullshit please and thank you.
On topic, he will be a sub and like it or leave. He said himself, the position he has 3 better players playing in and even when the oldest of which retires, he still cant play because he doesnt have the abilities to play that role.
He has been playing poor and thats on him, he has to turn it around. He came to a great team, you cant be surprised that if you dont play up to standard then you dont play.
I think people are talking about he cant do this and that and he cant play role X, Y and Z. But thats tough...learn and adapt. If you dont, you leave, just as Ibra did, just as Hleb did and so on and so forth. He keeps talking about what kind of player he is and what he does...well what kind of player he is isnt working so perhaps you should realise you need to learn something else.
Song isnt a holding midfielder, but he comes in and doesnt make a fuss, he played his role and didnt go wandering about. We will see how long it lasts, but he showed a level of discipline Cesc could learn.

Re: Cesc isn't happy
Go ahead Buy him .
I think well all welcome you guys buying yet another attacking midfielder, not like it makes a difference.
And Barca fans hate him anyway.
Buying Ronaldo would be for my own personal satisfaction. He would maime the PL with all those AMs behind him but at the end of the day I couldnt really care less .

Re: Cesc isn't happy
Must be about the money
No seriously. He left Arsenal.
He was their captain and a starter who competed regularly at alongside and against the best players in the world both in Champions League and the Premier League.
Sure he's at Barca. His "childhood" club. But at what cost.
Both coaches seem not to have faith in him. He came because well you know all of the players etc.
He had a good thing going at Arsenal. I don't wish him to be upset at Barca but I mean c'mon who didn't see this coming?

Well to be fair he didnt really have a good thing going to Arsenal.
They didnt challange for titles and they didnt really have many players on his level to play with.

GoonerJay29 wrote:Cesc's best position, for the last few years, has been one where he is allowed the freedom to roam and make runs beyond the forward. He's the sort of player who wants to do everything - drop deep to receive a pass, be in a position to play the final ball and be in a position to score. For a player like that, he needs to have the system tailored to him. That's how it was at Arsenal.
At Barcelona, he has to adapt to the system. They already have Xavi for someone to drop deep and receive the ball. They already have Messi to score goals and play final passes. He hasn't the pace or the dribbling ability to play in either wide position or in Iniesta's position. There just doesn't seem to be a position for him in Barcelona's set-up and his form has suffered as a result.
For Cesc to work at Barcelona, he either has to play where Messi plays, which is impossible, play behind an actual centre forward, which is also impossible, or groom himself to play where Xavi plays, which is possible but will take time and he'd probably would never be able to do what Xavi does, anyway.

Re: Cesc isn't happy
Well it is easier to assess situations when you are looking at them from the outside rather than when you are living in them. We all go through struggles and learn things about our selves in the process that other people could have told us a long time ago, but some people, most in fact never truly learn something until they experience and learn the lesson themselves.ColoJunior wrote:Must be about the money

The grass is always greener on the otherside. Im sure to Cesc after struggles at Arsenal, Barca must have looked like paradise, but now Im sure he knows, nowhere is perfect.
He thought he was going home but as he knows now home isn't where you come from it is where you are raised. Arsenal is his real home
Come home Cesc

You have a good point. And I mean with any professional in this sport (at least a majority) is to be able to win titles. And having that drought sure didn't help in maybe convincing him to stay.
He's at Barca where I guess you could say he always wanted to be. But now what?

One question. If you are a passionate footballer who loves the game and to play more than anything else, would you put playing as your first priority or would youd be happy with spending the prime of your career playing a bit part role from the bench while the guys on the pitch win you trophies? There is no simple answer to that question. Think about it.

Re: Cesc isn't happy
Depends on the type of player tbh
So we have to see how long this plays out with cesc and we'll find out.
Either he'll stick to it or he'll move. (which I doubt)

Re: Cesc isn't happy
Cesc just needs to chill and work hard to develop his game. He is 25 and needs to realize that he can always evolve, its not the end of the world!! I think he is getting enough playing time anyway so he shouldnt be complaining about that.
Pique and Pedro were in the same situation last season, they were benched, and acknowledged their poor form but tried to work hard to resolve it. There was no going to the media and sending some indirect messages. Unlike cesc, these are players who have been key in our past glories but they sucked it up. In thiago and rafinha, barca have very good replacements if cesc decides to leave anyway.
On the other hand some fans in the Camp Nou whistled at cesc. WTF?
Fans have become too spoilt. If 1 or 2 key players are sidelined for lengthy periods, cesc will come to our rescue and then we'll all realise his true worth.
Patience

Actually, I think we are actually playing better without him. Now its more about a team than it was under him. And no way I want him to be captain again. Judas showed how poor a captain Cesc really was.
That said, I would not say no to Cesc coming back to Arsenal one bit. As long as he is a player, not as the captain.

No way Wenger or Cesc would take back the arm band, i want him to lead us with Vermaelen as Captian.
