Him being unable to play in Barca's system does not mean he isn't a great player. Henry failed in that system as well does that make him glorified stat padder?

Cesc has not been a CM for a very very long time he just isn't that player any more this was ages before he joined Barca.

Stop living in the past lol, he's an AM or ss/fake 9 now and has been for close to 5 years the AM/SS part anyway.

If you buy him as a CM he will flop and flop hard.

Mole,Cesc has sucked in all kinds of positions hes played in.He played in the Xavi role,He played the Iniesta role,He played as a Am and he played as a striker,he even played on the wing.With the exception of a few performances,he sucked.No excuse for that.

Fabregas is CAM imo. Someone who plays ahead of the 2 CM's/DM's, but not exactly AM.

Also Mole that "scrub league" is a league where Mata and Silva played in,and theyre by far the two best AMs in the league.That "scrub league" also had De Gea,the best young keeper in the PL right now.That "scrub league" had Michu,who is the joint top scorer in the PL right now.Fabregas,Reina,Arteta also came from that "scrub league".

It's a slightly deeper position. It's pretty much an attacking CM.

There isn't unless he means Attacking Central midfielder.

Cesc's best position, for the last few years, has been one where he is allowed the freedom to roam and make runs beyond the forward. He's the sort of player who wants to do everything - drop deep to receive a pass, be in a position to play the final ball and be in a position to score. For a player like that, he needs to have the system tailored to him. That's how it was at Arsenal.

At Barcelona, he has to adapt to the system. They already have Xavi for someone to drop deep and receive the ball. They already have Messi to score goals and play final passes. He hasn't the pace or the dribbling ability to play in either wide position or in Iniesta's position. There just doesn't seem to be a position for him in Barcelona's set-up and his form has suffered as a result.

For Cesc to work at Barcelona, he either has to play where Messi plays, which is impossible, play behind an actual centre forward, which is also impossible, or groom himself to play where Xavi plays, which is possible but will take time and he'd probably would never be able to do what Xavi does, anyway.
