Correct Messi won't stop him from developing but he'll forever be in his shadow. That's what concerns me more when I hear the likes of Madrid and Barca being linked with him.

To answer the question,based on what nerman,Santos president/coach and the catalan papers are saying its pretty obvious he going to Catalonia after the world cup.Rossel is the main reason behind this move,he is the president of Nike Brasil and guess who gives his company the most amount of $

Well, if his agent is smart he should be able to get a good contract Neymar. Somrthing like 3 years but could leave after 2 years if a club pay at least X millions ....

Brazilian super agent Wagner Ribeiro admits he's twice had Neymar close to signing for Real Madrid.

Ribeiro first took the Santos star to Real seven years ago for a 20-day trial.

"A contract was drawn up, but in the end Neymar didn't want to leave home," recalled Ribeiro.

Then in 2011, Real made a serious bid for the Brazilian.

"They were going to pay the buyout clause of €45 million and distribute the money to the DIS Group, which owns 40% of the player's rights, and Santos. It was good business and Neymar's contract was also good. I wanted him at Madrid. At first, DIS did not accept the €12 million and then Santos would not sell. But in reality, everything stopped because Neymar said he did not want to leave at that time."

I think everyone knows now that Neymar is going to Barca. It's really a question of whether he will come next season or after the WC.

Santos striker Neymar has rubbished reports that he has signed a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona.

Reports in Sport and RAC1 last year claimed that the Brazilian superstar has already agreed to join the Bluagrana.

But the 20-year-old has denied those rumours, insisting that he is happy at the Sao Paulo club.

“I do not have a deal with Barcelona or any other team,” he told El Pais. “The only thing for certain is that I have a contract with Santos and I am happy.

“This is a great club and I have a deal until 2014.

“The most important thing for me is that I am happy and I'm with my family, my friends and my club.

“My goal now is to help Santos and Brazil.”

You could also ask "why would he want to stay at santos for so long" when he extended till 2014 a few years ago. I think neymar is a little different.

His father, idol (ronaldinho) and many others constantly telling him to go to Barcelona, and ideally he would fit in but not now, after Villa and Sanchez leave then yes.

Neymar scores goals, but he offers more than just goals.

There's a difference between Barcas wingers and wingers who offer a lot more. Someone like Di Maria, Ribery, Ronaldo etc.

I'd say, especially nowadays, Barca's forwards offer anything else in abundance other than goals
