Me too. Plus they will pay top dollar for him. I'd lol if he got benched by Balotelli/Aguero/Tevez or whoever else
City plays with one striker, not sure how its going to work. It looks like the money he is asking for is scaring teams and at 29 and made of glass, only a donkey team like City would pay close to what he wants.
I am tired of worrying about players wanting to leaving us, if any player wants to leave they can gtfo.
My sentiments exactly

This Arsenal board has no pride, all they want is money and poor Wenger has been carrying them for years and making them richer and richer.
Where do you get this BS from that all the board wants is money?
You do know that they don't keep the money, it goes into the Arsenal bank for transfer, debts and running the club
There are 6 board members at Arsenal if i am not mistaken and only Gazidis gets really paid being because he is the CEO.
He isn't really a Shareholder but an employee of Arsenal. He is the CEO and like any CEO he gets paid, who gets paid the majority of the money
Last year our board membrs got paid 2.55mil, out of which
Hill-Wood 67k
Friar 677k (cause he does do work for the club)
Fiszman 24k
Keswick 25k
Peckham NONE!!!
Gazidis 1.7mil (he is CEO that is pretty low for a CEO)
Kroenke 25k
So please stop always yapping about the Board members being money hunger, they may be power hungry but they aren't money hunger, they all have a stake in Arsenal and if anything happens to it they lose money too

Thank you.. It's been known that Arsenal are not willing to spend money until most of the debt is gone. I support the board while I disagree with some of their actions their intentions are for Arsenal and not for themselves. The reason why I support Arsenal over other clubs is cause of the way they run things and history. It's the way a club should be ran. Not like Chelsea, and Man City who just buy the things they want. Arsenal could do the same thing as them but refuse.

We shouldn't sacrifice success and our reputation merely to pay off debts. Being a debt free, mid-table club known for selling its best players doesn't appeal to me at all

How about we go back and look at the value of the current and former boards ownership stakes before the building of our new stadium and then now.
My guess is that you will find that their net gain in the share value has been significantly increased by the stadium and other redevelopment non-football related projects. With for the most part, these projects being financed on the backs of the supporters. From increasing the ticket prices at the stadium to the highest around. Then selling our best players year after year and replacing them with unproven potential or lower level players. With the results being that they are forcing the team to go for top 4 and CL football. Not being able to seriously challenge for any silverware.
This has been done not through their reinvestment in the club. So are they money hungry. Well maybe that did not get money in hand. But the increase in their share value to me is just as good as money. Especially, since we are no where nearer to winning additional silverware since before we left Highbury.

Yossi Benayoun has confirmed that West Ham coach Sam Allardyce has rejected the chance to sign the former Arsenal midfielder.
Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Now Walcott! Who is next?
The England star, 23, is devastated by Van Persie’s decision not to renew his contract at the Emirates.
Winger Walcott is in an identical position to the Dutch striker, as he is entering the final year of his current deal.
Walcott has always maintained that he would refrain from committing his own future until Van Persie showed his hand.
The two players are extremely close, on and off the field.
Friends claim Van Persie’s decision will have a huge impact on Chelsea target Walcott. Informal talks have already taken place between Arsenal and Walcott’s advisers.
On the table is a new four-year deal that would take his wages of £55,000-a-week to around £80,000.
But Walcott has the option of leaving on a Bosman free transfer next summer or face being sold now if the Gunners refuse to allow him to walk away for nothing.
The only way Arsenal can keep him is to seriously up their offer.
And they must also convince him they are prepared to invest heavily to compete for honours, which they failed to do with Van Persie.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Not sure what to think about this. Not really what I would say is an immediate need.
Arsenal are close to completing a deal for Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, according to reports in France.
talksport revealed earlier this week that the Gunners were on the verge of launching a £12m bid for the France captain, who has been told he can leave Lyon by club chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.
French newspaper L’Equipe claims that the two clubs have reached an agreement, with Lyon waiting to identify a replacement for the 25-year-old before making the deal official.
Ludivine Sagna, the wife of Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna, hinted that a deal may be on the cards after writing a revealing message on her Twitter page.
“Really hope my friend Marine Lloris will come to #arsenal?,” wrote Ludivine Sagna.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
The Lloris rumours aren't true. Lyon's president confirmed there wasn't an offer from Arsenal, and that they've set a deadline for the 15th of July.
As for Walcott, I was expecting something like that. £80k p/w is a lot for him, and if he suddenly wants more because of the van Persie situation, then I would say, regretfully, that he can leave, too.
That's not to say I want him to go, but he's another player who we've kept faith in when his form was crap and he wasn't producing anything. I doubt he was worried about the club's ambition back then.

Which good team would want Walcott? Even if a team like Chelsea want him, he won't be a starter there

I dunno, Aulas said there were no offers about a week ago.
And Liverpool were interested in Walcott but he would be very thick to reject 80,000 a week and Champions League football for Liverpool.

Arsenal will complete a £10m deal for Toulouse defensive midfielder Étienne Capoue, if Yann M'Vila move fails. - http://bit.ly/N4d1QE
>>> Info: Étienne Capoue is 24-years old on Wednesday. He made 31 Ligue1 starts for Toulouse last season, scoring 3 & assisting 4.
Capoue also made the 2011-12 Ligue 1 team of the season, ahead of M'Vila ( http://bit.ly/KsBhwE & http://bit.ly/KLg5jx )

A CM will be a priority given at the start of the season we may be short of CM, as wilshere is suppose to be back around mid- september and ramsey is going to the olympics. Additionally some cover will be required for song.

we need to buy mvila guys, i know capoue is probably a better choice. but i think we as arsenal fans just need that high profile signing this moment. signing capoue just wouldn't go down that well with the majority of ignorant arsenal fans out there.

Capoue is easily a better signing than M'vila. He played much better than him this year as evidenced by his place and M'vila's omission in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year. He's cheaper and doesn't have M'vila's attitude. I really don't care if ignorant fans get mad and I don't think the board is operating according to the will of ignorant fans, otherwise we'd be supremely screwed.

I still don't understand why we are so hung up on rumours about DM and GK (Viviano/Lloris) when the essential problems are elsewhere.

I'da thought the problems were letting in goals which a DM and a GK would help if not totally alleviate. What problems are you getting at?

As I said before, imo, the problem is not with the position, but with the collective. We are viewing Song as a CM but he is just a DM with pisspoor discipline. For the team, he should be doing his job, not trying to be the second coming of Cesc. And then we have Coquelin and Frimpong. And yet we want M'Vila or Capoue. Arteta/Ramsey/Wilshere/Diaby also for rotation in CM.
Szczesny needs good competition, agreed. If Fabianski leaves, which I doubt given his shoulder injury, then we need to spend. And then again, not a 15mil GK for rotation! One who is experienced enough to guide Szcz but yet cheap and good enough to give Szcz a run for his worth. The answer is not Lloris.
The other issue which is more important imo is creativity in midfield. Promoting Song as a CM and signing a DM is not going to solve that. Rozza is getting older. Jack isn't close to fit yet. Diaby is a wheelchair. Ramsey is not ready for that role, and I think it would be better to rotate him with Arteta deeper. Ox may be the answer 4 years later, but not now. And yet, how many creative midfielders are we linked with?
And then there are Dempsey and Jovetic - I wouldn't say no to either signing, but they play as SS, a role we don't have - right? If we are planning to switch formations a bit, with 2 DM/CMs, and a SS instead of a CAM, then the wingers would have to be treated deeper as LM/RM for balancing - and you can imagine how bad Podolski, Walcott and Gervinho would be deeper. None of them are very great defensively mind you.

I see song as more of a box to box midfielder after last season, we need someone to just sit deep and break up play consistently, you can see with Song is no matter how hard he tried he always drifts forward.

I don't think we can re-mold Song into a DM, he's far too dangerous creatively suppress him in that role.
But on my summer wish list are Dzaegov, Jovetic and Capoue

If we can get either Capoue/M'Villa and Dzaegov, while RVP leaving i would call this an excellent transfer summer
