I wish I could look at Cristiano Ronaldo in the eye and tell him "today you lost a fan, however insignificant that is to you".

Let me explain, today in Obidas, my 10 year old daughter had football practice, which she couldn't do because the national team is practicing in the same premises. As is obvious, in spite of not being able to train and knowing that I would pick her up at 20:00, she took this chance to admire the national team, because these are the players that make her dream of winning big games.

When I got there, I didn't find a happy and fun child I'm used to finding, but one that was sad and down. When I asked her what was wrong she said "Cristiano Ronaldo didn't sign my autograph because I had Barca's jersey".

I didn't know what to say. The jersey she had put on to train, her mother bought it to her when we were visiting Barcelona, it was a symbol of her mother's love and a souvenir of a vacation. Had we visited Madrid we would have purchased a Madrid jersey. How could something like this turn into such disgusting turn of events.

It was disillusioning and my great pain to have to explain to my 10 year old why a member of the national team, who she had spent the entire past 2 weeks supporting, going to every training session, turned his back on her.

Someone explain it to me because I can't!

You that live everyday in this world probably know about thousands of such stories, maybe you can understand, justify and even make excuses for this type of behavior, but you probably won't be able to explain it to her.

My response to my daughter would be: "Ronaldo's team's fiercest rival is Barcelona. We'll have you wear another shirt tomorrow and i'm sure he won't have a problem."

Sad. This kind of event could easily cause depression considering it was an 10year old.

She's a kid, and she obviously idolizes him (as I imagine all 10 year olds in Portugal do). If she were 20 I would agree, but for a kid? I don't think it was right.

Also: Ronaldo was not training for Madrid, he was training for Portugal. He's Portuguese first and a Madridista second, or at least he should be, so this was uncalled for at the Portuguese training camps for a Portugal fan.

This is stupid. Do the parents really think Ronaldo knew the whole story behind her wearing the jersey? For Ronaldo, all he saw was a little Barca supporter who wanted his autograph. I wouldn't sign a rival supporter's shirt, ball, or whatever either.

Oh deary, deary me Ronaldo.

Like BC, I understand not wanting to sign it if it's like a 20 year old or an adult.

But a 10 year old girl? Seriously?

At that age kids are supporting teams because of how pretty the colors are.

i dont defend ronaldo here. i dislike the guy who makes a big deal out of sh1t, just cause his daughter's insident was related to a celebrity
