I know a lot of people who were in love with the show. Was it really that great? Should i start watching it? or is it not worth my time?
Lately I've been crazy about The Walking Dead, so if you any any tv shows similar to it, please suggests them. Not necessarily zombies apocalyptic world, but where a bunch of people are grouped to survive from something.

I watched the first season, didn't get to watch the remaining seasons, couldn't find them anywhere 
(If anybody can post a link of the first 3 seasons, it would be highly appreciated

I never liked lost at first, I just recently finished watching it what a great show. Trust me a must watch TV show.

Awesome show which really makes you wonder what's going to happen.
That said ... The way they ended the show was so freaking ridiculous compared to the quality of the first couple of seasons.

it depends,if you like being wtfed in every episode i would recommend it.easily and by far the best show ive seen.

Show should have ended without revealing too much. They ruined the mystery with some cheesy ending totally ruining the whole mood the show was built and became successful on.

Lost was an amazing show when it started, but the writers were running out of ideas towards the final seasons, and it shows! It was an enjoyable series to watch before they decided to add random stuff like

Lost was always a sci-fi show, I don't get the criticism it gets for going more in depth into that direction as the seasons evolved.

- Just because it's Sci-fi doesn't mean that any kind of additional twist of magic to the show automatically becomes appropriate/interesting for the plot. That's not going "in depth"...
The writers chose to end (and thereby revealing) many of the mysteries as being nothing but cheesy tales inspired by the Bible (how original.
) and instead leave a lot of the more interesting parts of the story (Dharma project!) oblivious to the audience.
In other words, the complexity of the show in the beginning was enthralling and thought provoking because there were so many open possibilities and equally many open paths in the plot for the writers of the show to explore. Nearing the end they made a lot of boring/exaggerated and cheesy twists to the plot that didn't at all live up to the original complexity and mystery of the show.

Fantastic show, especially for the first 2 or 3 seasons. It died down a bit the following seasons but the ending was decent.

Senior Penguin summed it up quite well. If they actually had written the whole script for all 6 seasons before the show started, they messed up royally towards the end of the show. The Dharma initiative was an interesting part of the show that they never fully explained, yet they chose to add so many other ridiculous things that took the show in a negative direction. Also, the show's viewer count dropped by 1/3 from the 1st season to last. The most notable drop was during the 5th season. If they had figured out the plot from day 1, as you say, then they must have rushed the writing of the latter part of the show. I don't see any other reason why they would stray from the main plot and introduce new, less appealing sub-plots.

Lost started off so well and descended throughout the show IMO,but still far above average show.

Lost was a great show but my interest deteriorated towards the end

Awesome show with a really poor ending to it.
That alone ruined the whole damn show for me. But it's still very memorable for the characters and the plots and subplots. One of the finest shows of this decade.
