well i dont think thats boring and if you compare with pointless passes that Spain makes and the whole strategy to waste time and get the other team exhausted and use their mistake makes Italy an exciting team or the complete mechanical German play . how ever i look at your comment dont see any point .
Well said.
Makes perfect sense. At least the Italian team is confident enough to invite attacks in. Spanish team is afraid to lose the ball so half the time it's back passes and time wasting

Funny how you can be the team that scored the most goals in one season in history in all competitions only trying to keep posession.
And how many of those goals did Messi score in this record-breaking season lol?
"Only" more than 110. More than your team with Ibrahimovic!
Oh, and it makes no sense taking a player out, Messi is part of the team you know.

Re: Italian Football Scandal = Italy wins the Euro
What are the two of the greatest games in World Cup history? Italy vs Brazil 1982 and Italy vs Germany 1970 (known as game of the century. Italy vs Germany 2006 would also be there in the top 10. So what does that mean? It means Italy brings entertainment into the pitch and they do that while winning, and they won a lot. Ignorant posters like white star and free cat sterotyping nonsense, I'm sure they are the ones who think cantenaccio means ultra defensive football. Italy was one of the most attacking teams of the tournament in 2006, they were the most fouled team and didn't win all their matches 1-0.

Re: Italian Football Scandal = Italy wins the Euro
In my humble and respectful opinion, Italy WC '06 was far more entertaining that Spain WC '10. I predict that Spain will struggle at Euro 2012 because they've lost David Villa, the only player was brave enough to fight the seemingly irresistible urge to pass the ball backwards or sideways when there's a clear shot at goal. And for that, I salute him, the forgotten man of Spanish football.
The Italian style is stereotyped as boring by people who secretly wish they had even half their tactical nous, discipline and organisation. The fact is that you need all that so-called 'boring' stuff to be creative in the first place. People enjoy writing Italy off because they are a formidable team and that is exactly the kind of motivation the players thrive on.
Watch, they will be putting in solid performances and getting the job done in the group stages and, suddenly, once they've made it to the latter stages of the competition, the players will instinctively kick it up a gear. It won't be an efficient German machine, a metronomic Spanish tiki-taka or a flowing Brazilian Samba... Italy will be a tasty tiramisu, expertly crafted with only the best ingredients and some Strega for that extra lift.
Buon appetito!

How curious that only fans of italian teams defend that Italia is so entertaining and that Barça with their 190 goals last season are defensive.

Re: Italian Football Scandal = Italy wins the Euro
Well, after finishing below the guys who make Fernleaf butter in the last major tournament, I'm sure Italy would improve on that big time. As for the boring part, yes, the Italian team does not play football that is aesthetically pleasing to the neutral eye however, they are not here to entertain, they are here to win and winning is what they generally do. Probably won't win Euro 2012 but I'm sure they would make a wonderful account for themselves...
Also, this is the only tournament Spain can say they have more trophies than Italy...

Re: Italian Football Scandal = Italy wins the Euro
let me just ask 1 question to italy haters.
you support your country no matter what right? no matter how there football is played right? The players couldnt care less about the supporters and who they are. There not out there saying to eachother, oh God today we have to make free cat happy, or we have to make him/her happy. it will never be like that. They go out and they do whats good for THEM. not you, THEM. if my Italy has to play that sort of football to win then i couldnt care less lol as long as im on the streets parading after, who gives a s*it right? Whats wrong with a solid defensive structured football team? the rule to football is the one who scores most, and not the ones who plays the most fluid attacking football wins.. am i right? well, if u cant score.. you cant win For me, people who continually bash Italy because of their ''style of play'' are amateurs of the game, were not some federation that was founded 4 years ago. We Are a global Football reference, we are known for our defenders, and our exceptionnal play at the back. Its legendary and has been like that for a century now lolll. so get used to it.. its not mindless people on the internet who think they know it all thats gonna change my opinion about it, others opinion about, or let alone, our teams opinion about it 4 World cups, 1 European Cup. you dont get that overnight, and until you people figure that out, your clueless.
so my question to you is, why all the hate?

im not saying were the most interesting team to watch for some, but for me personnaly i find it good. reason im saying that is because lots of people bash us for not going to win n e thing because of the way we play. ill just give u a quick example. i have a lot of arab friends around my neighbour hood and when tournaments like these come around there always out in packs to bash me. not because the players suck or wtv, they says in the words '' dont think Italy is gonna win anything with their defensive tactics, they suck and their scared'' is that even an legitamate excuse?? wtf?? and im getting the same impression here.. get real

It takes an intelligent mind to appreciate the discipline and tactics found in the Italian playing style.

I was simply implying that Barca was heavily reliant on Messi for goals this past season.
We've drifted off-topic though. My main concern was with your stereotypical and ignorant comments on what is considered entertaining football. Perhaps you find Barca's tiki taka possession based game to be the funnest to watch (you're completely entitled to feel this way, I can appreciate their style and also enjoy watching it), but you should be aware that there is no 'most entertaining' way to play football. I rather enjoy watching a well-organized defensive game with a little bit of attacking flair, does that mean I'm wrong? Or does it mean that other people may enjoy different tactics and you have no right to speak on the behalf of everyone?
Your comments only serve as a testament to the arrogance of Barcelona supporters.

Boring football? I support the great Oranje, but some of the greatest games in International football involve Italy. Include the "Game of the Century"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_of_the_Century_%28football%29
Then Italy-Brazil 1982
Then Italy-Germany 2006.

lol this is such bs
show me one person who is not a manager who watches teams for their tactics... that's an absolute joke, noone's going to say "team x plays a very disciplined version of 3-5-2, i'll watch them today"
this "discipline and tactics" crap is just codeword for "boredom" and fans of teams that can't attack use this argument because they desperately want to feel better about their team and themselves

that discipline that made italy won 4 world cups, another 2 finals and one 3 rd place... Wow, i guess you can win all this just defending, how boring italy can be.. Spain on the other hand it's the most spectacular ever... The only big country in europe who never played in a world cup final before 2010.. Who won the World CUp in Africa with 1-0,1-0,1-0,1-0.. very spectecular, even more spectacular than any brasil team in history..

So winning is boring? Conceding one goal in a tournament is boring? No, it is skillful. You just value attacking display as the most important aspect in football (not surprising since you are used to seeing Messi and Ronaldo score buckets of goals against weak Spanish defenses) instead of a solid defensive team display that has made Italy one of the most successful nations in the history of football. It takes skill, it takes discipline, and it takes good tactics by both manager and players alike.
