Re: Champions League '24/25
Monaco’s admin been violating Barca on a daily since their win against them. Funniest thing about it is that Barca can’t even get revenge because there is no second leg pic.twitter.com/YwgSUevqoj

Such loss means very little in CL nowadays in the new format tbf, we can still easily advance even if we lose vs Bayern/BVB

You want to be amongst the first 8 teams ideally although this whole bloated poor man's super league will ensure you get to loss a few games and still qualify through play offs

The hell happened to PSG… seems like an unrecognizable team to me other than Donnarumma, Hakimi and Marquinhos.

CR7 must be furious with this change to the CL format. I’m watching the Dortmund game against Celtic, and this match looks like it could’ve ended in double digits if not for some poor finishing.
And just as I write that, Dortmund score again to make it 5-1.

Yea lol... makes stat padding so much easier nowadays... lots of these matches are a joke, like 1st division vs 3rd division practice matches really... the scorelines reflect that...
Enrique should have been gone a long time ago... PSG dont seem to be getting any better... though Arsenal look impressive...

We might be able to turn things around in classic, RM fashion when Rodrygo/Mbappe come on in the second half

Re: Champions League '24/25
It was nice seeing Camavinga on the pitch again. Thought he did okay but he has to work on his reflexes so that he doesn't commit penalties like that, he already had a similar one against Rayo Vallecano last season like in February or March, and it cost us the victory.
I wonder what tactical and technical instructions and training Ancelotti and his staff are giving to the center midfielders. I saw with my own eyes how Tchouameni and Valverde both looked like Xabi Alonso reborn in multiple games of the Euros and Copa America with their positioning and distribution, and I saw the analysis and reactions from some of the most competent Spanish tacticos on Twitter (some of which who work for Marca or professional football agencies) that confirmed what I was seeing. What we've kept seeing this season is Tchouameni be very discreet with his whole game, particularly with his distribution positioning and passing range, and I don't agree with the positioning that Ancelotti gives to the midfielders.
The guy refuses to field Valverde as an LCDM and Camavinga as an RCM. Tchouameni and Camavinga started as the double pivot today and I thought they'd be better suited to play inversely where the other was playing, that way Camavinga has more space to turn and evade pressure with his own idiosyncratic turning technique and also more angles and more pitch to distribute over with his left foot, same with Tchouameni, who should distribute from left to right with his right foot. Camavinga from right to left with his left foot. That way they can also shoot more easily when up the pitch outside the box.
No coincidence that Alonso and Kroos both played mainly from a similar DM/LCDM pocket as right footed deep lying playmakers.
Apart from that, like I mentioned previously, Ancelotti's tactics and process seems lame, I hope this season is not a wash, and if it comes down to it I'd be okay if a small team like Arsenal or PSG ( ) win the UCL and we at least, haphazardly win the league if something like that is what it takes to amicably get Ancelotti going on his way. Time for something new, Zizou knew when to jump ship before things blew up in his face, time for the great Carlo to do the same even if we manage to be successful again this season through our talent alone.
I'd have to sit for a long time and take pictures and notes and try to decipher more exactly what's going on line for line, or also see if there's anyone competent out there who can articulate the suboptimal coaching from Carlo, but this definitely doesn't feel right, and it's a similar feeling that as Madrid fans we're used to by now. For decades. Time for the club to modernize its football identity and process frameworks institutionally. We're already buying, selling, and planning better than almost anyone, time to finish the evolution.

Night of upsets tbh... Benfica smaching Atletico was pretty bad for Simone... when they gonna sack him? Everyone thought they would improve with the Alvarez signing but clearly not

The biggest upset of them all was Bayern losing to Aston Villa. Kane has done it with Tottenham, but you wouldn’t expect it to happen to Bayern They need to win the league this season, otherwise I’ll feel really bad for Kane.
