The Official Real Madrid Matchday Thread 24 - 25
We have far too many injuries in midfield now all of a sudden
Camavinga out for up to 6 weeks
Jude out for a month
Let's see how we manage.

Fact.
That midfield. No vision. No calm. Guler has to start.
Tchouameni is a ball playing centre back. At best.
That front line better be on fire against Betis at the Bernabeu

Funny enough Betis are a thorn in our backsides. Won't be surprised to draw that game too lol

No need to panic, not yet You would think that with the attacking talent we have up front we wouldnt struggle to create proper chances but here we are. Also why mbappe playing so deep

This team is really missing Kroos.
He was always available for the pass
Valverde will work himself into the ground with all the running he has to do now
Tchouameni
He has to improve his speed of decision making.

We'll just have to manage until Carlo does the inevitable and switches to a 4 man midfield

Once Camavinga is back, he'll make the switch.
From his presser today. He tried to not appropriate blame on the front three for the lack of balance.
He also mentioned rotations.
Guler should be in the 11. Guy is too good to sit on the bench.

Won't be surprised if Modric becomes a mainstay in the line up. He pulled the strings today, almost like vintage Modric

Until Arda Guler develops into a holding midfielder we have no choice but to rely on Modric.

Hope he learns the trade quickly because I don't think we can rely on Modric come CL QF and SF

REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and Fran González.
Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Lucas V., Vallejo, Fran García, Rüdiger, Mendy and Jacobo.
Midfielders: Bellingham, Camavinga, Valverde, Modrić, Tchouameni and Arda Güler.
Forwards: Vini Jr., Rodrygo and Endrick
Hopefully Guler starts.
I say again, too good to be on the bench.
These young players need as much minutes as possible to built confidence and understand their roles on the pitch.
Line up should be
Courtois
Carva Rudiger Militao Mendy
Valverde Tchouameni Bellingham
Guler Rodrygo Vini

Have we hit rock bottom yet? Lots of players out of form, terrible pressing. Our unbeaten streak ended tonight against freaking Lille

Re: The Official Real Madrid Matchday Thread 24 - 25
Only got to watch parts of the first half and maybe like last 10 mins of the first half. We seem sluggish and we cannot win the ball in the midfield and on defense often. Way too many times the team gets the ball back after a dead ball or when the other team makes the mistake. How is a team like lille keeping the possession in our half for periods of time makes no sense to me. This is much more than an imbalance issue in the attack

Didn't watch the game.
I can guess what happened. Poor midfield. No link between the forwards and the middle. Defenders panicking at the back. Tchouameni was atrocious.
Bet I'm right.

I see a lot of you are blaming everything on Carlo once again. By end of season, I’ll bet most of you will concede that he is the best coach ever.
The issues this year, and to a certain degree with other years is to reshape the team with new additions (as in Mbappe, Endick) or emerging talent (Guler, Dias) as well as dealing with key injuries (Bellingham, Camavinga). In addition you have players not living up to expectations (Tchouameni) or not up to form (Vinicius). That takes time and let’s not forget that titles are not lost in September nor October.

Re: The Official Real Madrid Matchday Thread 24 - 25
Titles are not won in October but they can be lost.
Ancelotti is a Don. Doesn't exempt him from blame when the performance is poor.
The team setup vs Lille was weird.
Two defense midfielders with Valverde and Bellingham wide. Why?
The team played better when Valverde moved into midfield with Modric and when Guler came on.
Endrick isn't ready to start these games.
And Tchouameni is not good.

It wasn’t the team setup that lost this game!

I see above you didn’t watch the game and yet you can make all these assessments? And are you saying with the new CL format that the title is lost because of one game in October?
And what the hell is a DON?

The league can be lost early but UCL form matters only by feb/march tbh. We've done this a million times

Looking better, but still no where near the level they should be at. Mbappe fails to impress yet again.
