I will forever hate this board if they sell van Persie.
City are a complete joke. The last position they should consider buying is at striker. They still can't get rid of Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Tevez, or Dzeko yet they're interested in RvP while they have Aguero and Balotelli? They are clearly just trolling.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal are being linked with a surprise move for German attacking star Marco Reus.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal could move for the 23 year-old this summer, after Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger cryptically admitted he was 'on the case', as a pundit for French TV station TF1.
Wenger was a special guest for Germany's quarter-final clash with Greece in which Reus scored the winner in a 4-2 victory for Joachim Loew's side.
However, any such move for Reus will depend on Borussia Dortmund who officially signed the attacker in January, before loaning him back to Borrusia Mochengladbach.
It is claimed that Arsenal will offer Dortmund the £14 million they paid for him, although this is unlikely to sway the Bundesliga champions.

Yeah right Reus is leaving his child-hood team, the german champions which he just joined for Arsenal.
Do these journalists have a brain? Fgs Wenger only said that he was interested before him joining Dortmund which I'm glad Wenger did. Quality player.

I hope Wenger doesn't pull of some crap like he attempts to sign Mangane, pulls out and renews Squillaci's contract and expects us to be happy. Think GallianiRealGunner wrote:Hope that's not true. Not better than Squillaci

M'vila is crap your better of resigning Pascal Cygan or Oleh Luzhny and play them as DM's than that FM hoax.

If we're going to sign someone from Rennes than it's this guy: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2164632/Rennes-receive-offer-Arsenal-target-Abdou-Kader-Mangane.html?ITO=socialnet-twitter-arsenalmail&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

Interest in Bendtner goes global, says agent
"The interest is overwhelming, just as it should be after the way Nicklas performed at Euro 2012," Lynghus told Danish newspaper bold.dk.
"We are getting closer day by day. We are not commenting on individual deals at the moment, but it is fair to say the interest in Nicklas is global."

Matt Spiro @mattspiro
Have heard from two seperate, reliable sources that Wenger has ended interest in Yann M'Vila due to players behaviour in last few months
I knew this will effect on Wenger losing interest on him. Now who should we get instead?

If this is true, I wonder if we'll start hearing Etienne Capoue's name linked with Arsenal again? Capoue had a better season anyway and beat out M'Vila for the team of the season. Plus he would come cheaper. And he can play in the back as well as defensive midfield.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
I wasn't overly keen on M'Vila in the first place. At least, not for the money that was being touted. I would much prefer Coquelin get more games instead.
We do still need a midfielder of some kind, though, so I hope we have other targets.

M’Vila v Capoue: Interceptions: 2.5 v 3.5, Tackles: 3.1 v 2.8, Clearances: 1.7 v 3, Assists: 2 v 4, Goals: 0 v 3, Height: 6"0 v 6"2.
and versatile
although Coquelin-Wilshere-Chambelain can be great all round midfield in future

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Thing is Capoue looks to me more like a Coquelin type of player therefore IMO not needed. Maybe I'm wrong as I didn't watch a single match of him. I just would like someone who wouldn't mind staying back protecting the back 4. Song is not that person, Arteta, Coquelin and Wilshere either.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
nah Capoue is a proper DM, he is more close to Frimpong than to Coquelin.
Like jay said, wasting 18m on M'Vila and to find out he has a shitty attitude. There is no point in that

Also Capoue is a lot more physical than Coquelin, his height advantage gives him that edge.
Capoue: 6 ft 2 (189cm)
Coquelin: 5 ft 10 (178cm)

Did we even show serious interest? lol Can't think of other options tbh, maybe Wenger will surprise us this time

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
I remember we were linked with Capoue a couple of years ago, when we were being linked with every defensive midfielder you could think of (Miguel Veloso and Gokhan Inler being two that we were linked with almost daily).
Maybe we'll just go with Frimpong next season.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
What are we going to do about Denilson? the 6m price tag is just ridicules, we should sell for any offer more than a 1m.
I am afraid we wont sign anyone if we cant get rid of Denilson and Vela which we have put a big price tag on both of them.
Honda to Arsenal anyone?

Hopefully Arsenal see sense and come down on Denilson price.
Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
some people claim they have reliable sources inside club and Mvila deal is done
now someone else say they know its not completely off and we are doing same we did on Arteta/arshavin etc case by denying interest
days of itks or so

Probably not a good idea! Jack got serious surgery and we are talking about slowly integrate him back to the team. Frimpong got two of those and plays in most physical demanding position.
M'villa did not impress me this Euro, not that any of French team did. That performance did not justify 18 mil price tag, plus his lackluster season & poor attitude. Capoue might be safer option, or another year of Song + Coquelin.
