La Masia - Page 10 Empty Re: La Masia

Post by BarcaKizz Tue Feb 07, 2012 7:13 am

I'm annoyed I havent caught as much of the B team this year. I think its that some of the players that appealed to me have left.

Anyway, great info. I'm interested as to why Muniesa plays DM and not Bartra. Considering Bartra is famed for his skill on the ball rather than his steely defending, I would have thought he'd be more likely to play there.

I think its good learning for Muniesa though. He should still be seen as a CB, but playing at LB and DM will improve his game. I just hope he gets some time eventually at CB so he can grow into the player we want him too. I still have highest hopes on him out of Bartra, Gomez and himself.

F**ing hate Armando...

I always wondered if Barca uses the Ajax system in terms of youth development.

As in, youngsters have to learn how to play 3 different positions.

Barça B won 4 - 0 vs Cartagena. Deulofeu was MOM. Still needs to get more involved, but scored 2 great goals. Rafinha dominated the midfield and scored a great late goal. Bartra, Rafinha, Muniesa, Riverola again played well in the half time I watched. Here two links to watch the highlights (let me know if you can't watch them because you live abroad):

I bothered to upload the highlights of Barça B win over Cartagena so you can watch Deulofeu and Rafinha goals. MOM Deulofeu.

Ps. Kizz, you can merge this with La Masia thread if you want.

Notice that in Deulofeu's first goal, it is him who carries the counterattack leaving 2 players behind. It's not only the shot that has quality.

Powerful run by Rafinha, I noticed he has a very strong body to go with the skill.

Great finish by Deulofeu, I mean great.

That looked like him taking the FK for the 2nd goal...I have to say, that looked a little Cristiano like...which isnt a compliment, though at least he hit the target.

Am I out of line saying I feel Rafinha is at least as close to being ready to the first team as Deulofeu? Maybe a little kneejerk, but everytime I see him, its mighty impressive.

He is indeed. I think Rafinha is more ready than Deulofeu. He is more made, has the tactical concepts and more consistent.

And yes, deulofeu is very similar to Cristiano. He is a good Free Kick taker, and he normally hits the target.

Yeah, that drift in from the left wing was brilliant, then he is on the right wing for the last goal too

He even freekicks like Ronaldo Shocked

Great run and surprised nobody praised Kiko's assist, a really great ball that was.

Epic run by Rafinha... I love the look of this kid. Probably the player I'm most excited about. No wonder Thiago always says 'I'm not even the best in the family'.

I'll move this to the other thread now its had some exposure.

La Masia - Page 10 Empty Re: La Masia

Post by free_cat Sun Feb 19, 2012 3:47 am

This weeks Barça B highlights. Couldn't watch the match, but I've heard the lads dominated the game (70% posession) away vs. the best team in Segunda, Deportivo. From the highlights, I like Oier's safe hands, which reminds me of Valdes. Deulofeu does a nice play where he hits the post, and another 2 nice plays (one ends in a soft shot, the other in a JDS shot that hits the post at 3:10). In the minute 2:50, there's a great pass from JDS to Sergi Roberto or Rafinha, that misses the one on one. Finally Barça B scored after a JDS free-kick that hit the woodwork, Deulofeu shot, GK stopped, and Kizz favourite, Armando scored the goal. JDS was sent off for two yellows.

Also, Armando and Sergi Gomez are atrocious in deportivo's second goal, and Rodri doesn't track Manuel Pablo in their first goal. Femenia had to fill in as RB because we missed a lot of defenders that are with the A team (Muniesa, Bartra Montoya), so all in all, it's a good result and performance, although we could have tied.
