Re: Arsenal Lobby
So when RVP leaves I think we should do something about him on the GL banner. He doesn't even have to be removed, maybe someone could photoshop a bag on his head because we have Podolski up there.

Chamakh: "Yes. If I am staying here with Arsenal, I will do my best for the team and give the maximum.
"Last season was difficult. We were playing with just one striker and that striker was the best player in Europe. There was not a lot I could do.
"I need more confidence. But to be confident I need to play more. I am determined to stay.”
Chamakh talking to the Sun about how his Arsenal career could be revitalized if RVP leaves.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Laurent Koscielny has agreed to sign a new long-term contract.
The 26-year-old centre back has established himself as one of Arsenal's most consistent performers since arriving from Ligue 1 side Lorient in the summer of 2010. No other player has started more games for the Club - 85 - over the past two seasons.
Best known for his defensive qualities, the France International has also contributed some important goals for Arsenal, with his most recent - the winner against West Bromwich Albion on the final day of last season - securing the Gunners' qualification into the 2012/13 Champions League.
Koscielny's fine form for Arsène Wenger's team earned him a call-up to the France squad last year. He has now won four caps for his country, including playing the full 90 minutes of Les Bleus' defeat to Spain in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 last month.
Manager Arsène Wenger said: "Laurent has been outstanding for us over the last two seasons. When you consider that until 2009 he was playing in Ligue 2 in France and that he is now performing at the very top level in the Premier League and for his country, the development that he has shown has been absolutely exceptional. Laurent is a top-class player and I am very pleased he has decided to commit his future to the Club."
Laurent said: "I'm delighted to have reached agreement with the Club. I have had a fantastic time here and look forward to an exciting future with Arsenal."
Everyone at Arsenal Football Club looks forward to Laurent's continued contribution in the forthcoming years.

Nothing solid, just rumors floating about. The rumors started a few days ago and they've been picking up wind now. We'll have to wait and see, but there's an air of positivity surrounding the club now even with RVP's departure and that is great.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I really hope Walcott pens a new deal, not only because he's an important player, but because it'd make van Persie the only first team player leaving this summer. Now while that's not ideal, it's probably the best scenario we could realistically hope for (let's be honest, we all knew van Persie would leave).
Throw in Koscielny extending, the signings of Giroud and Podolski and the potential arrival of Cazorla, and this summer suddenly looks brilliant again.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
O2 Set To End Arsenal Sponsorship
O2 are set to bring to an end its 10 year sponsorship of Arsenal Football Club.
Sally Cowdry, marketing and consumer director at O2, told Marketing the brand will now focus on its sponsorship of the England rugby team and its Priority Sports programme.
The telecoms brand first began its relationship with Arsenal in 2002, as shirt sponsor but more recently as a secondary partner, after Emirates took on the primary role.
O2's current sponsorship deal concludes at the end of this month but it’s unknown at this stage whether there will be a replacement.
However, it’s understood that O2 will retain an association with Arsenal via a recent tie-up with Nike, through which it will offer exclusive experiences with the team.
Cowdry denied the decision was due to Arsenal's failure to win a major trophy since 2005, insisting it was driven by a focus on investing where O2 can achieve the "biggest impact for [its] customers".

The very presence of that statement is worrying. Even if its not the case, unless we have some on-field success, that might just happen.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
The M'Vila stuff was never reported by a reliable source, so it was mostly our fault for jumping the gun on that one.
The Cazorla stuff is coming from a reliable paper and two reliable journalists (Hunter and Lowe), so we know something is happening there.
I do agree, though. It is best to stay cautious because things are just as likely to not go the way we want them to.

I can say this much: if they're dropping us to focus on the England Rugby Team, then on-field success is definitely not a driving factor for them. That could very well be the case with a lot of sponsors. On-field success would endear us to potential sponsors, but we're still big and famous enough to get considerably better deal than we have now.

Well I know nothing about Rugby to be honest, so can't comment on that part. But its just something we should be wary of in my opinion. We all agree that we need to flex ourselves commercially to be able to compete without selling key players to make the money. We expect that to happen as the long term deals run down. But the better we perform, the better chances we have of nailing better deals. Thats simple logic enough.
