This is as good as signing a new player.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
So we drop Djourou and Squid
Then we have Verminator Bosscielny and Perdinho
We'd need 2 more CBs, Kolo doesn't make sense because of age, wage and playing time. Probably call up Bartley and sign a young lesser known talent.,

Yes.
I'd prefer we didn't push Song back after he made such a great case of why he should be pushed forward this year.

Ahaa! There we go, yeah Miquel would be a great 4th or 5th CB with Bartley (although I don't know how good he is even though he played a lot for Rangers)

I'd put Miquel ahead of Bartley.. Bartley is okay but has a lot of room for improvement - should be loaned out to a PL side, not lower leagues or Scotland.. Miquel seems more mature and composed, though he is also young and inexperienced..

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Don't think Miquel or Bartley will be considered for first-choice 4 CB's.
Don't think both will make it at club. I like both, but not sure they have enough potential to be kept. Both lack pace too.

Ray Parlour believes Arsene Wenger played Andrey Arshavin in the wrong position – and admits his Arsenal career is far from secure.
“You could say that he was played in the wrong position at Arsenal,” Parlour told the Weekend Sports Breakfast. “Arsene Wenger’s always played him on the left hand side and he’s more of a central player."
“I’m sure Arsene will be watching and wondering why he couldn’t do that for Arsenal. He never played like that which is frustrating for the fans, Arsene Wenger and the players.”
Arshavin looked set to leave Arsenal this summer following his successful loan return to his homeland and Parlour admits his future is far from clear.
“Let’s see what happens with him,” he said. “I’m not sure whether he’ll go back to Arsenal or they’ll try and sell him.”

Arshavin had 3 hard working midfielders behind as he was drifting from left so if he didnt do as much defensively that didnt cost them

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal have been dealt an injury blow over Bacary Sagna's broken leg.
The Sunday Mirror says Sagna could be out until mid-September after Arsenal suffered another injury blow.
The France full-back was already devastated at having to miss the Euros, starting with Monday's opening group game against England, after suffering his second broken leg in the space of seven months.
But Sagna won't make it back for the start of pre-season either, which means he will also sit out the Premier League kick-off.

Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson feels a stronger person on and off the pitch after his first year in the Premier League.
The foremost Gunner fan signed for Arsenal last summer from then League One Charlton Athletic.
“I didn't start how I would have liked to, but an honest assessment would be that as I have progressed, got more minutes under my belt and trained with the boys I definitely feel like I have improved a lot. It was a very steep learning curve for me," he told arsenal.com.
"I believed I was capable of playing at the highest level, and sometimes it is about getting seen by the right people at the right time. I have had some tough times but I feel like I have come out of it a bigger and better person, and a better player."

The father of Arsenal superkid Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admits he's ahead of schedule in his career.
The Ox is hoping to start for England in their Euros opener against France on Monday.
“I didn’t expect him to be as good as he is as soon,” Mark Chamberlain told the Telegraph. “I also made my debut at 16 and was never a winger until I got into the first team. I would much rather have played in central midfield but because I was quick I was kept out on the grass away from the mud.
"Ideally, I see him as a midfielder but he doesn’t look too bad. You find your position eventually and he’s doing very well.”

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood can't guarantee they won't sell Robin van Persie.
Hill-Wood admits that if money is the deciding factor then their captain will most likely leave.
"He is vital to us and has been an extremely good captain," said Hill-Wood in the Sunday Mirror.
"But if somebody comes along and offers Robin £250,000 a week then I am afraid we cannot compete with that.
"With players, you never know what they are going to do.
"Some players say they want silverware but when they have the chance to earn extraordinary money that has been pumped into the game, then you just have to hope they will stay because they are happy and loyal where they are.
"There are players like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes at Manchester United who have been loyal to one club but players like that are few and far between.
"Hopefully we can reach agreement with Robin and ideally he will extend his contract.
"We have already brought in one new player in Lukas Podolski and I believe we will bring in more. I am confident we will, in fact.
"I just hope that Robin will be with us next season because I genuinely feel we can make a real challenge for the Premier League title.
"We had an atrocious start to last season but we recovered to finish third which was a marvellous achievement when you look at the problems that we had with injuries."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
The father of Arsenal star Robin van Persie has hinted a move to Juventus would be a good option.
The Dutchman has been heavily linked with a switch to Turin over the summer, though faced competition from Europe’s other top clubs.
“It would make no sense to go to Barcelona when they’ve already got Leo Messi,” Bob van Persie told El Mundo Deportivo.
“Real Madrid would be a good option, but they are not so much a team as a collection of star names, so he wouldn’t really fit in there either.
“He’d never go to Manchester City, as it’s impossible he would play for another Premier League side that wasn’t Arsenal.”

Orbinho @Orbinho
Just 12% of the PL goals Arsenal conceded were scored from headers - only West Brom (10%) and Norwich (11%) conceded a lower proportion.
