Re: Summer Transfer Window 2012-Rumor Crazy Months!
looks like sahin is on the verge of going to arsenal, because arsenal is in the champions league. Wow, very difficult for you guys to get back to that level with most of the class players going off to champions league clubs instead. Better hope the likes of sterling and that young spaniard (forgot his name ) from your academy turn out to be top class

Lol I'm not sure if you're taking a dig at us or you're expressing genuine concern...I'll take it as the latter , we're going through a tough time at the moment, and hopefully things work out for the better in the future. Our manager is young, we have some great young players still long away from their primes. The only upside from here, is that it can't get much worse for us. But we're all optimistic still for this season, there's much to play (even top 4), after all it was only one game!!!

I feel bad for our youngsters.
Suso can't get on the bench ahead of Adam, Sterling can't start over Downing, Pacheco can't get on the bench ahead of permanently injured Joe Cole.
Sotton started with a 17 yr old at City today......Suso will leave when we don't give him games, and we'll be stuck with Adam for ever. disgusting

I don't know why Carroll doesn't fit Rodger's style (some people on the forum mentioned this and he is yet to feature under Rodger) but Suarez (CF) & Borini (WF) behind Carroll seems to be a good fit, to me.
Whatever line-up Rodger wants our attacking options seems rather frail. Apart from Suarez & Borini all others; Carroll (not suited to style), Cole (unfit & under-performing), Downing (below par), Sterling (too young), Pacheco (unproven) have questionable credentials.
IMO, we need an attacking player (ST/WF/CF/Winger) with proven credentials.

When you put it like that our targets are also sort of slipping away from our grasps. . . as i mentioned exciting times ahead . . it would also be a nervy time ahead. . but my faith is on BR . . lets see what he does. .

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSS....BEST FKNING NEWS.....Even better is that Carra only has one year left in his contract. We will see our legendary CB retiring at the end of this season. Will be a sad day when he hangs up his boots but also a step forward for the club.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2012-Rumor Crazy Months!
Does anyone know, how long his new contract runs and how much per week??
Telegraph says
Telegraph says
"Skrtel has signed a contract extension which will increase his salary to around £70,000 a week at Anfield and is understood to commit him to the Merseyside club for another four years.
The Slovakian had two years left on a £50,000-a-week deal, but there had been interest in him from several Champions League clubs at the end of last season."

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2012-Rumor Crazy Months!
Liverpool have distanced themselves from reports linking them with a swoop for the England international and reports they are ready to match City’s £10million asking price are wide of the mark
It seems we are not in for Adam Johnson . . . . . but looking into other targets. . . more Assiadi transfers to come maybe

I'll walk away from football if we sign AJ.
I hate him with a lot, and i mean A LOT of passion.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2012-Rumor Crazy Months!
Adam Johnson really strikes me as Downing 2.0. He's better as an inverted winger, and he's generally a bit more lively in the final third. However, he's still just Downing light. Would he be a step up? Maybe. Would it be worth the extra expenditure on a player very similar to one already on the book? Now, that's the real question, isn't it?
Personally, If we're looking for a wide forward, I'd rather see someone like Sturridge/Walcott/Munian/Dries Mertens come in. They're wide player that act as a striker first and foremost, but will perform a winger's duties. If we're bound and determined to play Suarez in the middle, we have to have strikers in the wide positions. That's why I was so excited for Borini's signing.
Judging from recent press conferences, it's pretty obvious we're in for at least a few players. That's not to say we'll land anyone, but we could see a few more Assaidi-esque signings.
Strap yourselves in. It's going to be a bumpy week and a half.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2012-Rumor Crazy Months!
"The Adam Johnson news" Well people it was a report from Echo normally a very reliable source . . whereas another very reliable source BBC has reported for it. So, conflicting reports. . however, none of the reports have been able to provide any quotes supporting their claims. Thus the conclusion is wait to be surprised the "Assiadi Way" . .
Great News for Carroll fans . . BR says “I would need to be a nut case to even consider at this moment letting Andy Carroll go out, unless there are other solutions for that. At the moment there isn’t."

BR also provides clear indications in this article regarding FURTHER transfers. . .

And he could be a nut case to sell him. We're not going to get anyone to replace him, and he's our only 'striker' at the club.
Yes.
