The superiors? I don't see it happening along with the fact that FSG is known to keep their dialogue strictly internal with the players even.

Honestly mate I am not too much against this move IF & only IF the price is RIGHT. But you know the guy is our fav in CB & certainly one of our fav players. . does makes things a little sad Sad

I hope Agger doesn't move. If he can maintain a decent level of fitness throughout the season, he is among the top 3 CBs in the PL in my opinion. I've watched his stats and whenever he does play, he does well.

With that said though, it can be very hard to refuse a great fee. However, we should not look at anything under 30 million, in my opinion.

One player remaining at Liverpool is defender Martin Skrtel, who has overcome a brief period of uncertainty at the end of last season to commit his future to Anfield. He is close to signing a new long-term deal.

Rodgers insisted retaining Luis Suárez, Skrtel and fellow centre-half Daniel Agger was a priority on taking over as manager. Only the Dane’s future remains uncertain, but that is because of Manchester City’s spending power and the possibility of an outrageous bid.

Liverpool certainly are not inviting an offer for Agger.

Times , Telegraph and Guardian are all reporting the same news today.maybe some kind of leak from us?

We dont want to sell Agger but will consider a ridiculous bid.And the ridiculous bid is supposed to be around 27mil.We already have rejected a 20mil bid from City.

Skrtel is close to signing a new 4 year contract.

We want Sahin on loan and Tello from Barca.

Also Mail is saying City certainly wont bid any higher and hence Agger is certain to stay.Hope its true.

That same story has already been going round for a few days. It's nothing new and not a link. The same story in the Telegraph specifically states that the club does not welcome bids for the player (as seen above). The entire story is City's interest in a deal... not Liverpool's.

The Sahin & Tello rumors are making rounds very frequently & gaining serious pace.

However, most reports suggest that in both cases Arsenal seem to be our competition for their signatures & they do offer a more attractive package.

Sahin want's CL Football which might hugely tip his decision towards Arsenal.

Tello might be included as part of any deal made with Alex Song. So, apparently it looks like we might come up runner-up in both cases.

This is reported by reporters from BBC, Times & Guardian . . .lets see where it leads. This week might be exciting!

From a Guillem Balagué article:

Liverpool Brendan Rodgers has decided that the shortest path to victory is passing through many countries. The Chelsea B exentrenador, Reading, Watford and Swansea came to Liverpool with a clear philosophy and inexperienced, but has been released into the ring without shyness. What the ring is not a cheap imitation: the mirror is Barcelona, the national team, the Spanish. Pepe Reina is playing ball this season more than in all the Dalglish era. If you want more tracks look around, the center of the field that aims Rodgers: Joe Allen (Swansea's new signing), Lucas Leiva and Nuri Sahin, all shorter and stumps.

Sahin said no to the opportunity to be part of the transfer of Modric and now take weeks hearing from Xabi Alonso mouth of the benefits of a special club where he could play regularly. Apparently, Xabi work is paying off and Sahin seems convinced. A year at Anfield will give you the confidence (and rhythm) of scarce. Ian Ayre, executive director of the English club, is in Spain because he and Rodgers believes it Sahin (and perhaps Tello) is more than possible.

http://www.as.com/opinion/articulo/xabi-persuasion-sahin/20120814dasdaiopi_6/Tes

The Sahin & Tello rumors are very solid it seems it just about the players deciding on the deals. . Let's see what Ayre can bring back.

I love our former players. Part of the club always remains in their hearts. Bellamy convinced Allen to join us. Alonso is doing his bit in Sahin's ear. Next thing you know Masch is feeding Tello things he wants to hear.

It will be a f*ing disgrace if we do sell Agger against his will. Loyalty means so little to so many players and if the clubs start stomping it down, too, there will be no dignity whatsoever left in the game.

Masch would most probably be scolded by his wife if he did so Razz . . . . Considering she was the prime reason behind him leaving & settling for a career as a CB from being one of the greatest CDMs ! !

If we get £20 mil & AJ for Agger, who would be the real winner!

If Agger does leave, who should be brought-in as replacement!

Should we try either of Carragher, Kelly or Coats to partner Skrtel!

The more City wait to make that ridiculous bid for Agger the less likely this transfer becomes. Obviously we won't sell him if we don't have adequate time to find a replacement.

LIVERPOOL FC are hopeful of clinching the signings of Nuri Sahin and Cristian Tello this week as Brendan Rodgers’ summer rebuild at Anfield gathers pace.

The duo would move to Merseyside on season-long loan deals, with Rodgers confident the signings can be clinched before the Reds open their Premier League campaign at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Liverpool believe they have fended off interest from both Tottenham and Arsenal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sahin.

The Turkish international has been told he is free to leave the club by Real boss Jose Mourinho and, having spoken to ex-Reds star Xabi Alonso, has informed Rodgers of his desire to move to Merseyside.

Liverpool aim to complete the formalities over the next 48 hours, and could introduce the 23-year-old to his new teammates this weekend.

The deal for Barcelona winger Tello should also go through shortly, with managing director Ian Ayre having flown to Spain to finalise negotiations.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season at Camp Nou last season, making 22 appearances under Pep Guardiola, and scoring seven times.

But with Guardiola having left, Tello has been informed by new Barca boss Tito Vilanova that first-team opportunities will be limited this season.

He was officially listed as a ‘B’ team player when the Catalans announced their squad for the upcoming campaign

Finally something from a reliable news feed. . I have been just posting tweet feeds from some of the reliable reporters. . Things looking really positive. But then again Arsenal can swoop in at any time.

True with these two deals going down! ! It would be some brilliant combination & brilliant bench!

New signing vs. olympiakos, if anyone hasn't youtubed him yet. i feel like he replaces the pacy option we had in bellamy, with maybe better dribbling. of course, youtube highlights only show so much.

I don't know about you guys, but I see him as BR's Yossi Banayoun (albeit pacier). For the fee we got him, and his low wages, I think it's a great signing. Although I've never even heard of him before today.
