Pep was hoping that Keita could unleash a long shot

Barca were so passive. Pass after the pass. No risk. No balls.

Pep needed someone bald to come in and deliver magic so he went with Keita

Pep's sub especailly has never been strong. These 2 today was very bad moves.... no Pedro for the 2 legs was bad.... just goes to show that hes still learning.... I hope does and that he will adapt and evolve, we need him to....

To be fair, Ibra did mention that Pep is a small-time coach...let's not expect too much :coffee:

I was hoping Pep would make Messi play on either wing and take on their LB or RB and make plays from there. It could have worked considering how Cuenca was unable to beat his man .

I think Cuenca just doesn't suit Barca. He isn't an inside forward. Tello isn't ready yet.

That was at the beginning when Cuenca was against Cole but Pep switched him the the left and he did well there, weird that he got subbed 1st instead of Cesc.

Yeah, he switched and it worked, but i was thinking more in the lines of asking Alves to stay back and get Messi on the wing.

It could have worked with Iniesta, Cesc, Xavi and Busi occupying the middle. With Messi in the middle, the final third was just too congested and Alves was never able to beat his man from the wing.
