What good is Terry's "experience" when player are running in behind him and he doesnt have the speed to recover?

You can play down Pepe's lunancy all you like, the man is a pressure waiting to get carried away and kick someone in the back.

Bottom line, those 2 are far closer in ability to Vermaelen than they are to Thiago Silva.

Clearly you don't play 2 John Terrys, you need a player who can make the recovery tackle, but his positioning means he doesn't get compromised in that way as often as you'd think.

Vermealens discipline with regards to positioning, wandering and keeping a solid place in the line leaves a lot to be desired. Forget Pepe, Chiellini and Thiago have been completely insulted by being placed on a list with Vermaelen lol.

Except, indeed he does get exposed because the covering defender doesnt always make it/ is out of the play.

Classic example, Benfica game.

David Luiz comes up to close an opponant, someone plays it over the top and Cardozo get in behind...his left foot was tame from a akward angle..but this is common place.

No, it isnt.

Luiz has to come out from the back if he got a player free running at goal from 30m out.

If Terry wasnt slow, there wouldnt of been a problem.
