Re: Ze German Thread
Max Kruse was kicked out of the NT squad due to severe misbehaviour off the pitch. He already missed the World Cup 2014 as he was kicked out of the NT for off-field misdemeanor, and now it looks like he is messing up his chance to go to the Euro 2016, too.

Re: Ze German Thread
Would've been riding the bench anyway, and can always get called back if Reus gets injured again, which will happen anyway.
BTW what's your call for the friendlies?
I say Löw screws it up and we lose both because of weird tactics.

Re: Ze German Thread
I'm curious if Löw will put one of his extra goalies up instead of Manuel Neuer in one of the friendlies. I'd actually like to see Kevin Trapp for once as his chance was messed up when the last friendly got called off.

Re: Ze German Thread
Bastian Schweinsteiger injured the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during yesterday's first training with the German NT. There was no contact with another player - it just happened. The exact extent of the injury has yet to be determined, but he is definitely out for both friendly matches.

Gomez because he's great when fit.
Podolski because of loyalty, I guess.
Also because Podolski is the greatest player in the world, obviously.

Re: Ze German Thread
Is Gomez really any good tho?
Haven't watched him since he came back from his 2014 injury and I guess he scores a lot in a weak league, but isn't there anyone else who can fill the Klose spot?

Re: Ze German Thread
Swap Kroos for someone like Kramer and maybe Ginter at RB and it'd be ideal.

Re: Ze German Thread
Dat elf...
Probably try and sneak Durm, Ginter or Schmelle in for old Benny H, but yeah that's a solid XI.
Could arguably do with a bit more defensive muscle, so maybe have only one of Kroos or Gündogan on the pitch and get a bit of Khedira in that mix, if he's ever fit. Maybe even Piggy.
Well not maybe.
If he's fit, Piggy has to play. Just remember the WC. That beast.
And yeah Gomez pretty much is that good. Mostly a pure poacher, sure, but I remember back at the WC, how we just couldn't crack some defenses until Klose came on. Could be the same without Gomez, so we should take him.

The kids might play in Rio for Olympic Gold, so it could be they won't get into the senior side yet (our U21 looks really impressive atm, too, if you look at the names).

They're great, but I don't see the point of calling either of them up before Khedira and Piggy rotate out of the NT. Let them have actual first team experience in Rio, instead of riding the bench in France.

Schweini is finished, has no business being in the NT.

See, this sounds like it might be a valid opinion, but then, he was in shit form before the WC as well, and bossed the tournament regardless.
Onyx wrote:----------Weigl

No width though. Unless Reus and Müller go wide, which would leave Özil as a false 9, which is... Meh.
