Corinthians' Dodo bound for Roma

Giallorossi director Walter Sabatini is a longtime admirer of the 'new Roberto Carlos' and the left-back has apparently already agreed terms on a move to the Italian capital

Roma already have a deal in place to sign Dodo from Corinthians at the end of the season, according to reports in Italy.

Giallorossi director Walter Sabatini has allegedly been tracking the full-back for some time and a deal has now been brokered with the 20-year-old's current employers which will see the player, who has been compared with Roberto Carlos, arrive at the Stadio Olimpico in the summer.


Indeed, it is claimed that Dodo, who is currently out of action with a knee injury but expected to return to full fitness in May, has agreed terms on a five-year contract with the resurgent Serie A side.

Meanwhile, Corriere dello Sport claims that Roma have made enquiries about Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, who is currently enjoying a fine season on loan at Lecce from Udinese.

Coach Luis Enrique is said to be a keen admirer of the Colombian and Roma view Cuadrado as a better option than Udinese's current wing-back Mauricio Isla, who is reportedly valued at €15 million by the club.

his Injury makes the transfer rather risky though but i think he worth the risk

Doubt he's any worse than Angel.In fact I think that would be impossible.lol

lulz harsh on Jose Angel honestly. I still like him, but I can't see a future for him if Dodo out performs him considering we'll have Marquinho as back up in that position as well.

There's not been too much talk of him leaving so it looks like he'll be fighting for that spot.

Dodo drops Roma training

Brazilian full-back Dodo failed to complete his first training session at new club Roma yesterday, due to an inflamed knee.

The 20-year-old left-back, who had his transfer to the Giallorossi confirmed this week, met with his new Coach and teammates for their pre-season training at Trigoria yesterday, but did not complete the double-training session.

Having suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage in November 2011 to his left knee, the youngster did not take part in the preparatory work as a precaution, because the same joint was inflamed again.

The player has been included in the list of players called up to Zdenek Zeman’s pre-season camp at Riscone, that will be held from today through to July 17.

Daniele De Rossi, who visited Roma’s training ground yesterday, will be on holiday after his involvement with Italy at Euro 2012, before joining up with the rest of the squad before their tour of the USA.

He's really struggling with that bad knee right now. Has only been able to participate fully in 2 practice sessions so far in the past couple of weeks.

Very early still, but with a long, tough season ahead of him, it's looking unlikely he can go the distance.

Some of these young brazilians seem to be very injury prone! Kind of a shame, hopefully he's able to get it sorted out.
