We don't know that tbf could just be that its open world is demanding on current hardware full stop.Tomwin Lannister wrote:So if I bought it for xbox it'd be better?

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
I'm far from even knowledgeable on these things but I'd say it was worse than GTA BUT I think it's improved now, maybe it was just the starting sections that were really jankyGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:What's the framerate like say compared to GTA V?
That had quite a lot of texture pop in and slow load times as far as the map was concerned.
But it didn't really ruin my experience.
I sucked at the boat sections of AC3 I'm going to struggle here I can tell already GOAT setting though

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
don't neglect upgrading your ship
i'm 2/3rds through the story and some of the naval fights are frustrating..and I havent actually been neglecting it, money is tough to come by compared to previous AC's. everything is expensive as hell. I havent been exploring and stuff or doing side missions though lol.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Finished it already lol, though I did just run through the entire story, tons of side stuff to do
I'd say it was tied with AC2 as the best one. It has the best supporting characters and setting, but Ezio is the GOAT.

Is this actually any good?
I felt like I was ripped off with AC3 so I'm hesitant.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Agree with Firenze. Just sat down and played it again for the first time in like 2 months....just not a game I can play for hours on end. It'll likely be the same with AC4.
It's been an awesome experience nonetheless.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
I find that with most games nowadays tbh...its very rare I play for more than an hour or two in one sitting.
Tend to spread the game out over weeks and months at a time, tend to think I enjoy games now more because of it.
I'm able to steadily take it all in bite sizes instead of blasting through it in one sitting and everything being a blur.

It is a lot better than AC 3. I'd agree with the other posts that its right behind AC 2.izzy wrote:Is this actually any good?

I knocked it out in about 2 and a 1/2 days, beat all 4(or 5)legendary ships, fully upgraded my ship, did most the side missions. Didn't care to get 100% as I wanted to start playing battlefield 4.
If you're having trouble with money find the naval convoys and hit them, they show up as blue on your map and they carry 10 grand. And do the naval contracts that you get after capturing the forts, the pay is like 2 grand each.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
I didn't play AC2 but this one is the best AC i've played. part of the reason AC franchise was becoming boring was the lack of things you could do in the game, there was just a huge map but without side activity it was all useless. this one has a shitload of stuffs that keeps you entertained for a lot of hours.
I'm not doing any mission by the way, capturing forts are more fun.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Playing it. Really good game. So much stuff to do.
I have a question. Where does the metal I plunder go to? And can you do other things with sugar and rum apart from selling them?
Also I like Edward. So much better than Connor...

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Metal, wood and clothes can be used to upgrade Jackdaw but they don't have a great sell value, sugar and rum can only be sold.
I'm currently on sequence 12, really enjoying the story so far, i liked pretty much all supporting characters.

£19.99 on PSN in europe for the next two days as part of their xmas deals (you can also upgrade it to the PS4 version for £10 if you are buying a PS4 in the next month.) Great price for a great game if anyone is wanting to buy it.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Really enjoying this as of now, ship battles and exploration is very enjoyable as is exploring the various islands, settlements, towns and jungles etc etc....
Really enjoying the missions, story and other stuff so far too if the level of enjoyment remains all the way through i'll put it above 2 i think.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Agree with that as well lol.... i kept meaning to do things and then doing something else lol.
Not a bad thing though, i think i spent about an hour in a jungle once repeatedly trying to escape from a tiger but getting lost so kept killing them till i got bored.
Got about 30 skins by the end lol.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Yeah agreed. I haven't played every Assassin's Creed, but this is the first one that I have that I've actually tried to collect everything. In the others, if I saw a chest or something on the corner of the map, I'd just ignore it, but I guess I've just gotten into character by wanting to steal everythingM99 wrote:This game is worse than GTA when it comes to distractions

One thing that annoys me though is how I never have enough wood or metal to upgrade my ship. I have tons of money, but I just don't like going out and having to sink ship after ship in order to make the final upgrades I need to make my ship perfect. Also, if I get attacked by ship after ship, I just get annoyed and sink half of them without boarding sometimes, which makes a difference.
