If any of you use the bouncing betty shock charge combo then f**k you. The people who do that are no better than the one man army double claymore noobs in MW2.

Also, I'm slowing reaching that standard I had in MW3. I nearly got my first 100+ last night playing Ground War and I'm working on a 500 SPM. And I'm starting to have fun with the game. I just wish you unlocked some of the bigger killstreaks a bit earlier. Last prestige I got like 4 swarms in my last 7 or so games in that prestige.

Neither do I. But when I'm running and theres a guy like sniping out of a window I'll go for a knife and I swear they like move slightly and it complelty misses. It's so retarded.

And bouncing bettys. People love taking advantage of weapons,equipment, etc that's boosted.


In no other game was bouncing betty's used so much. Before it was claymore everywhere. Then there was c4 and now betty's. It's crap.

I don't really play on my PS3 that often, these days. But yeah, I've been playing MW3 lately. Black Ops 2 just annoys me, the way it is right now.. it just doesn't feel very polished.. it's a mess.

Now we have noobs running around knifing with all 3 wild cards with ghost, cold blooded,lightweight,extreme conditioning. It's such crap.

So I've been playing MW3 multi regularly over the past week at a friends 360 and I can see why this game is so popular (after getting used to playing with a controller)

First of all the game is extremely easy - there's little to no recoil and the ability to aim down the sights of every gun and hold down the trigger throws the #1 rule of fps's of don't hold down the mouse button right out of the window.

Trying to aim for a headshot is redundant since all you have to do is aim at the torso and hold down the trigger because of the flinch mechanic. I find it stupid that it's more beneficial to hit someone anywhere instead of aiming properly. It's a flawed mechanic but makes the game easier.

The game has a prone mechanic which is simply stupid - half the people I've seen pretty much abuse it and it's frustrating when coming up against multiple people and they either last stand or prone, making you think they're dead and you move on to the next person only to get shot by the person whom you think you just killed. Another flawed mechanic but pleases campers and people thinking they're being clever.

Killstreaks - I'm on the fence on this mechanic, but because it has such a massive feel-good factor I can see why it's in the game.

All in all I don't get why CoD players call themselves hard-core gamers when they're playing a casualized FPS with no real balance. Snipers are almost always one shot kills for some reason - at least that's how it felt with the AS50 - and the only thing stopping me from just strapping on an ACOG on a 15 kilo sniper rifle using it as a semi-automatic rifle was the flinch mechanic but I did it anyways lol

It's a great casual fps but not much more than that and its popularity makes me pessimistic about CS:GO's popularity on consoles.

Want balanced weapons, inconsistent hit detection and hard to get high-end killstreaks? Play Black Ops 2, the most frustrating game since Black Ops 1

Or you can always play Battlefield 3, which prides itself on being more realistic than other FPS games. It also caters more to real "hardcore FPS gamers", I suppose. In my opinion, CoD has higher replay and entertainment value, and it's popular because no other game company seems to be able to really compete with IW and Treyarch in that respect; The majority of FPS gamers want to get right into the action, and that's exactly what CoD games offer.

I didn't say that Battlefield 3 = hardcore FPS game. I'm just pointing out that it caters more to hardcore FPS players than CoD does. I'm not a stealthy, devoted, deep-tactics type of FPS player, so I prefer the more dumbed down, casual, all action, brain-dead gameplay that CoD provides

I suggested Black Ops 2 because it's a new game, unlike those other titles you mentioned. Also, this is a CoD thread I think that a lot of older games offer a lot more in terms of gameplay, storyline, originality and whatnot. Modern games, more often than not, fail to improve on these terms, but choose to focus more on aesthetic details and small, "revolutionizing" features that are meant to steer their games in a new direction without taking any big commercial risks. So yeah, I definitely like older games/games that aren't brand new. However, regardless of their content being better or not, people tend to want to try something new. Hence, why I suggested Black Ops 2, and not Counter Strike source, Red Alert, Quake or whatever. Most people seem reluctant to pick up a game that is more than 2-3 years old, or even less.

Whenever I meet someone who's into RPG games, I recommend them to check out Final Fantasy 7 (unless they've already played it). A lot of the time, these people don't get through the game because they think that the graphics is too dated. Final Fantasy 7 is infinitely better than Final Fantasy 13, or even the newer, retro-styled RPG games, in my opinion... but evidently, the visual part of games mean a lot to modern gamers. Also, the fact that it's new and not old seems to have a stronger appeal these days

So, you don't think reaction time is part of being skillful? It's not like you can depend on reaction time to win you all 1v1's unless you can aim fast and accurately, as well. Just out of curiosity, what's your definition of skill in an FPS game? Like I said before, if you want a balanced CoD, Black Ops 2 is probably the most balanced CoD to date. Personally, I had tons of fun playing MW2 a few years ago, and that game's really imbalanced + full of glitches.

Also Phritz, the term "pro-FPS players" is borderline stupid. You can become a pro at a game, not a whole genre. Also, you're underestimating CoD players. There's a Swedish players called IncredibleOrb who is a CoD pub stomper now and he has 1v1'd all the best/"pro" Counterstrike players and beat them all including the best CS player (then) 11-0 out of 21 rounds. Also, another CoD player, Raimpstage has gone pro in Shootmania in just a matter of few months. Just saying.

Black Ops 2 is out by the way, not sure why you're bringing up MW3 problems just now...
