tbh cesc isnt even that good at penalties. like hes good at reading which way the goalie willl go but his placement is not very good, there have been plenty if times where hes looked a bit shaky from te spot for arsenal. i always felt a lot more comfortable with rvp taking them cause his placement is dead on and unstoppable.

Nah, pens are relatively easy. You cant get superb credit if thats the only thing you do in a game.

However, Messi just isnt good at them anymore. Everyone knows, no matter how much he delays, he is going right. He doesnt go left often and for good reason, he often misses them in that direction.

How Messi becomes the designated penalty taker, I have no idea. Doesn't have the fastest shots, most accurate shots, the consistency, the technique nor the variety to score tonnes of penalties.

Seeing as I never bashed Ronaldo, this thread doesn't bother me. What does bother me, however, is Messi's misses with PK's. I think it's time to evaluate other options. No need to change yet, but evaluation is necessary IMO.

Messi is very hypocritical. He claims to value team success over individual accolades, yet continues to take every penalty for Barca despite there being 3-4 far superior penalty takers than him on the team.

Ronaldo takes the penalties because he's one of the best PK-takers of all time, and therefore has the best chance of converting them. Messi takes the penalties for the sole purpose of staying competitive in the Golden Boot or Pichichi or w/e.

If Barcelona lose La Liga by 2 points or less, Messi's selfishness is the reason why. If Valencia defeat Barca next leg and progress, Messi is the sole culprit.
