Easy way to predict youngsters future
Easy way to preditct if any player will be future ballon dor winner is to compare him current best player.
If any youngster performs in this level at age 18-19 then you can say he will be ballon dor material in future. No more questions if this or that player is ballon dor material or not

David Bently remains the last player to score a hat trick against Man United.

Re: Easy way to predict youngsters future
...uh. Yes?
If a 19-year-old preforms at the level of Messi he would obviously be a ballon d'or candidate, because he is performing just like a Ballon d'or winner...
I suppose I'm failing to see what the point here is. It's like saying if you see a pot that looks red, then it is red.

So players like Kerlon who went from having a blindingly bright future to anonymity, where do they come into this equation?

Re: Easy way to predict youngsters future
Some players only reach their potential when they are older. Messi came to Barca at a very young age, was loved by the club and fans, and the coaches gave him time playing in the field. Plus they didnt let him have a lifestyle that certain *coughbrazilliancough* players have.
Heck, CR at 18 was a talented youngster who anyone could see was gonna be a great player, but his playstyle was completely different from what it is today. When he went to manchester he went through a complete change both in style and physique. Only at around 23 did his skills peak (not exactly "peak", but they reached the level at which they are today).
Messi "peaked" at around 20/21. Pele they say it was at 19.
