You never know. Putting in hard hours of training, being so emotionally invested in something and reminding yourself that you're carrying the hopes of others with you. It's not easy especially when it's the first major defeat you experience.

Chuck in the fact that he was very young, and that Southern Europeans can get emotional like that sometimes. I dont know if Lex also feels that way.

i would probably be in tears but not like this.. and im very emotional
if i was in cristiano's position that day i would probably hide my feelings, i think i can handle that, and then go cry at home

Indeed, the Latins are more emotional ... Federer cries at every grand slam victory, and he is well known for being calm ! It's hard to understand for those who live a boring life..

Forget the crying, kid was legitimately the biggest diver in the world, couldve hopped on a plane to the Olympics and competed professionally.....it's funny because he isn't anymore (bar a couple here and there) and people still give him grief for it.
People should hate him for his poor first touch, lack of vision or passing ability and greedy play more than for his tears or his antics .

I ran track in high school (800M and 1600M) and at state my senior year, I was the favorite to win the 800M. I had the fastest time coming in, as well as the top seed after regionals.
I ended up choking pretty bad (it was a really windy day, and I was a skinny little kid) and got third. Everyone's times were down that day actually, and I think the guy who won barely broke 2 minutes. For high school track, that is not very good. I came in with a 1:55 as my PR for the year.
After the race I went up and was about to start talking to my coach, trying to figure out what the hell went wrong.. And you know what? I just *bleep* lost it. I didn't even get a word out before I started crying. It was like I couldn't formulate any words and crying was the only thing I could get out. I've never had another experience like that... It was surreal.
But i guess the point is.. if you are so emotionally invested in something, spend hours and hours training and preparing only to come up short... then yeah, you never know how you will react.

So Cristiano Ronaldo promised his father right before his death (in 2005) that he would win the 2004 Euro final?
Seems legit....

many people like lex here probably have the mistaken notion that its wrong for men to cry or whatever .. sure ,it certainly helps if you dont lose control of your emotions every now and then, but as has been mentioned when you have worked hard and long for something and are denied that in the end ,plus you really care for that , its perfectly natural to lose control at those times.. .i mean federer, who is one of the greatest sportsmen ever , multi wimbledon winner, cried when he lost one wimbledon to nadal.. it just happens!!

He doesn't need a new passport, when he stops taking 350 shots a season (no exaggeration) starts sharing the ball more, plays within his limits.
When he picks his time and his place to use his best qualities effectively and not over indulge himself in some ridiculous race with Messi that he's never going to win.
When Sahin ,Granero and Ramos get to take a couple free kicks here and there, and when he starts making it less about himself and more about the team , you can trust me, I'll be all over him.
As long as his stats continue to to take such a profound importance that our play suffers for it, I'll continue to dislike him.
You know what's the funny thing, if he does all that his stats will improve, all Benzema ,Ozil and Di Maria want to do is feed him goals , he simply has to let them and return the favor when it's an opportune time to do so.
He could be the perfect player for this team, a goalscorer like no other, but he chooses not to be.

So scoring 60 goals a season is a hindrance now?

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Fan Club
He's not a hindrance, he's arguably the most crucial piece of the team, but the way he plays means that the team does not and will not ever do what they are truly capable of , and that bothers me.
It bothers me even more to know, that the sole reason for this is some pretend race with Messi to be the world's best player when that race doesn't even exist anymore, Messi won 2 years ago.
He could score much more than 60 if he did things differently and let the players who want to create, create for him.
He took more shots last season than than Benzema,Higuain,Di Maria,Ozil and Callejon combined.
It doesn't need to stop, we can win like this, but we would be much much better if it did.

You are asking for the impossible. You cannot ask CR to stop taking those shots and expect him to be the goal scorer he is now. You are effectively asking him to subdue his scoring instinct. If he does that, he won't score as much as he is dong now.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Fan Club
lol how are we not reaching our full attacking potential? we were the best offensive team in europe and ronaldo had a huge part in that , you have to take a few misses and moments of selfishness in your stride, he has started passing a lot more in key moments compared to say even last season..

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Fan Club
Every time anyone (including Benz)takes a senseless shot (something he does at times 10 times a game or even more ) it's a wasted opportunity.
It's one less opportunity for Benzema and Ozil to get their touches and create chances, higher percentage chances, either for themselves or for him.
I don't care if we scored the most goals last year, we could score more if we made the most of every attacking opportunity.
Why do you think Higuain scores at such a remarkable rate, he lets people create for him, he doesn't demand the most touches then hold onto the ball try and dribble and win a corner, he doesn't cut in and take 10 shots a game, he gets the ball, releases it to people who can make more use of it than him makes his runs and scores his goals or makes the extra pass for the assist.
He plays a simple and effective game, which maximizes his strengths and doesn't expose his weaknesses and would score an amazing amount of goals if given more time on the pitch.
That's what I want from CR.
