The Franchise wrote:I dont get why people say, he didnt get ny real chances. Are we offically accepting he is nothing more than a goal poacher?

Spain had less than 60% possession, he had plenty chances to make something happen. Granted, he was fouled alot but his freekicks as per usual were utterly woeful.

On the ball, Ramos and Pique controlled him easily when in direct confrontations.

But Dani what have I been saying. Watch all of Ronaldo's 60 goals last season and most of them are poachers goals. He is an over glorified poacher as I'm concerned, and the flair that people credit him with is the nostalgia from his early days at United. Ever since his last seaon at United he has become pretty much a poacher. Peole can't accept it.

FFS Pique has had Ronaldo in his back pocket since the cl in 09. He did nothing because Spain restricted his space. With lack of space Ronaldo bar his goal scoring is ineffective. As far as I'm concerned he is a combination of Gareth Bale and Mario Gomez.

Spoken like a true United fan. Atleast he's involved a lot more at Madrid and Portugal. In Manchester, he was played up top when there was no alternative with balls hoofed up to him just so he could do something special. Stop being a hater. You'll gladly welcome him back if you still had the chance.

And a big game flop? Lol. Have you been hibernating?

There is a degree to it tho.

The reason I don't expect him to create anything (for us and for Portugal) is because his only creative tools are useless in these teams. There is no target man to kick run and Cross to, and he himself takes away that option when he cuts in , in favor of scoring goals.

So it's not neccesarily he can't create, but he both chooses not to and lacks some of the options to make his style of creating effective in both teams.

Sad thing people expect him to create and force the ball to him when we have 2 attackers who actually want it to create, and they get left standing and watching him cut in and shoot 10 times a game.

And when he actually tries to create, we get a random cross to Benzema which is utterly useless and frustrating within itself.

I dont think most people would argue that he is some kind of chance-creating genius, the argument is that according to some people here he is "nothing but a glorified poacher" - and if CR7 is nothing but a poacher than I'd say just about 90% of strikers in the world are "nothing but poachers" as well

What does CR7 do? He scores goals...Mostly in the box from assist's, but he also scores free-kicks, scores distance goals outside the box, and scores some largely solo goals...

So to claim that a player that does that is nothing but a poacher is to call just about every forward on Earth a poacher...

Come on, CR is not a poacher ffs. He can create when he wants to and he has displayed that on many occasions.

I think people think that because he doesn't really contribute to the build up play. I think it's just because each of his qualities are kinda disjointed.

Portugal don't make the Euro's without Ronaldo, Madrid don't win any titles without him, simple as. Cristiano missed the first flight back to Portugal after going home but fans still waited for him alone at the airport to greet him.

Had it been CR crying everyone would be roasting him

But it's cool when "best CM of all time" and "manliest man ever" Pirlo and the rest of the Italy squad does it...

Cristiano was still just a kid in that final against Greece. He ha to taste the bitterness of defeat very early in his career. After that nothing else is really that bad lol.

Nothing wrong with crying. I have no idea why it has such a bad stigma about men crying. In the case of Ronaldo against Greece (2004) and Pirlo Sunday gone, they lost a final to which they fought tooth and nail to get to. No amount of cameras can really hold back such a feeling of anguish.
