Jenkinson: "We've been training hard this week. Everyone knows it's a big game. Everyone is up for it."
Re: Arsenal Lobby
Samuelj29060 wrote:Arsenal have thrown a protective cloak around Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as a string of big-name firms are lining up to work with the talented youngster.
The latest are movie giants Disney, who have had a request for a photo-shoot rejected by Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners boss put his foot down because the shoot, proposed for this week, was too close to Sunday's north London derby against Tottenham.
Alongside Robin van Persie, 18-year-old Oxlade Chamberlain is one of the few bright spots in a nightmare season for the Arsenal, who look certain to end a seventh successive campaign without a trophy and face a fight to qualify for next season's Champions League.
As such, Wenger - who has developed the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere since becoming Gunners boss in 1995 - is keen to limit The Ox's workload and media exposure.
Chambo stars in a new Disney flick as The Thing's lovable long lost son!

There’s a reason Per Mertesacker is so calm and composed on the pitch…..Mertesacker is an admitted Bob Marley fan.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Some pre-derby stats and quotes:
Since Redknapp arrived at Spurs, Arsenal have beaten Spurs just once in the 7 league meetings. (3-0, 2009)
On average, Arsenal have had 10.62 points more than Spurs going into derby games
Arsenal have been higher-placed in the table before 28 of the 32 derbies since Wenger arrived
David O'Leary: "Arsenal need to change about 6 players. I think Arsene has been let down by a group of players he had a belief in.
Henry: "In the history of clubs, sometimes you go through moments when it isn't nice. But if you're an Arsenal fan, you're an Arsenal fan."
Henry: "I would like to say to the fans that even around the times of the double 98', we had very bad moments also. Don't forget that."
Henry: "Sagna, Gibbs, Santos, Diaby, Jenkinson, Gervinho, Wilshere, no excuses but the season would have been better without injuries."
Henry: "It's vital for us to be in the top 4. No disrespect to the Europa League, the fans are used to Tuesday + Wednesday nights."
Henry: "If Arsenal or Arsene need me, I will be around in any way they want."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
"Pull your fingers our of your asses"
Emmanuel Petit blasts underachieving Arsenal
A concerned Petit told France Football:
"There is obviously a crisis and I am deeply sad for Arsène, we must
pay tribute for all he has accomplished, not only with Arsenal, but for
all of English football."
The Frenchman highlighted Wenger's change in recruitment policy as a
possible reason for the club's poor results.
He continued: "I am amazed, even if, for me it is the chronicle of a
death foretold. Basically, Arsene has changed [the club’s] sports
project, especially in terms of the transfer policy.
"Before, he relied on experienced players, leaders, achievers. Once
seated credibility by winning titles, he changed his policy by turning
to young players.
"I'm not saying that there is no talent on this team, the quality is
there, against Milan and Sunderland, it was obvious.
"The hardest thing is that Arsene was on the brink of success. The
defeat against Birmingham in the final of the League Cup in February
2011 was fatal."
The 41-year-old also believes the long-serving tactician may have
lost the trust of some of his squad as he struggles to arrest a slump
that sees the Gunners set to endure a seventh season without a trophy.
"I watch their body language and I see players who have become
disillusioned," Petit continued. "Year after year, they have always
struggled with the last step.
"I even fear that some have lost their trust in Arsene. There will be
huge psychological work to do, now and over time, because even if some
are leaving, most will still be there next year.
"It should be an awareness of individual and collective because if
you play the game of ‘blame it on so and so’ Arsenal might not even
qualify for the Europa League.
"95% of his players can do better but I sense a communication
problem. Each player seems alone in his world. Nobody takes the lead in
the field and that's deadly.
"Arsene has always protected his players, but now he has to step
back. These players are fragile, they can sink."
Petit is still a frequent attendee at the Emirates Stadium and
described two recent visits in which he saw evidence of disinterest
amongst the squad despite Thierry Henry's emotional return to the club.
He explained: "I went in the dressing room after the games against
Aston Villa Villa and Leeds, two victories. Titi [Henry] was there, 40
minutes after the final whistle but the other half had already left.
"The contrast with Titi, who is madly in love with football, was so
striking.
"Football, it's not a popularity contest on Twitter and Facebook,
it's self-discovery. They are peacocks in the middle of a farmyard. Pull
your fingers out your asses guys."
