Pep Mel just got Manzano sacked

Today was the battle of the two most under fire coaches in la Liga.

Atletico Madrid vs Betis Seville. Manzano vs Pep Mel. Both are on high alert to lose their job, and today's game just sentenced Manzano.

Lost 2-0 at home, and he will likely head for the door now.

Manzano has proven unable to make magic out of the excellent line up he was gifted with, confirming he is indeed a small team coach. Some big names were mentioned to replace him, now we will see who exactly will take over. Solari is the last highly regarded coach to be mentioned, as AS reported that he was willing to lower his demands to join Atleti.

Pep Mel survives one more week.

Falcao is a finisher, a pure 9 that is going to finish the chances you give to him.

Aguero is a SS who enjoys starting up attacks and runs with the ball.

and you complain about Falcao not carrying the team forward? ffs, it's like asking HIguain, Cavani or Gomez to carry their teams on their shoulder. THEY CANT, NOT THEIR GAME.

Falcao has 9 goals this season so far... new team, new habits, Atletico plays nothing like Porto, so he has to get used to the way they do things, not to mention that the scrubs behind him are very underwhelming. Besides, he was injured for about a month or so, which broke the streak he was on.

So Scoring 20 goals is the standard for "carrying" a team on your shoulder?

Why are you looking at individuals? football is no video game, Valencia is a much better organized and collective unit than Atletico Madrid. Reyes-Diego-Turan have been seriously weak, their efficiency compared to Valencia mids who are of lesser name, is garbage.

Aguero was Atletico attacking fulcrum because of the kind of skillsets he possesses. Falcao is an entirely different player, and he needs his team mates a LOT more.

Hope Atleti can bring Rafa in.

i compared higgy to falcao b/c we have always played with a lone forward the same as pathetico and he had no trouble scoring even with THAT shocking squad we had back then

i say it again soldado for pathetico would see them win

It's Atletico who invested the money badly. Im not Saying that Falcao has been fantastic, but then again, like in many of your comments, you never look at the larger picture.

Falcao is the kind of player that will needs to adapt to the players around him, and that will need the mids to adapt to him as well. If it's not happening, then the blame goes to whoever is running that offense, and to the players of course. However i have seen Falcao acting like a fox in the box cutting crosses to score so many times with Porto, that i am inclined to think that the problem is the fact that the attack is not organized.

It's never wise imo to make that kind of diagonal between players and teams. the team offense is at issue, and we have seen it oh so often with our own side, when the midfield is crap, Higuain is virtually non existent, but will find a way to shine regardless because our approach is so direct that he will get the ball anyway at some point, and will try something. Atletico dont play that direct, at least nothing like us, and while their style aspire to be closer to Valencia's, they are still crap compared to them. You give a lot of credit to Atletico's attacking 3, but they arent better together than piatti-costa-feghoulli

Manzano has always been a poor manager. Its about time they sack him.

It's about time Rafa comes back to La Liga. Atletico could be a real test of his abilities, sanity and alcohol consumption level. Lord knows how messed up that team is...
