They had one great signing in 22 year old, Ndombele. The word Elite seems to suggest some established, world beater. He got injured early on in the season, and him alone was never going to compensate for the drop in performance level by so many other players on the team.

Very upset by this and too premature.

Dude just got N'Dombele and Lo Celso healthy for the first time.

Look, with the team playing the way it was, then he was on a timeline towards sacking. The team has been underperforming badly for a while. But with what he's done for Tottenham, he absolutely deserved more time than this.

I have to believe something happened between him and Levy or that he has completely lost the dressing room, or this is extremely disappointing.

Also if Mou gets the job I'm going to die

agreed lol. Even if their new signings turn out good i think it was something deeper in that team and dressing room that caused the malfunctioning of the team. You can't go from making the CL final to playing like a dross midtable team in just a few months with pretty much the same core players.

It was a foolish decision, it would have been better to wait until the season ends.

I don't think a change in manager will change their fortunes.

From what I know of Spurs' situation, it was either sack the manager or rebuild the squad, and it seems they've gone with the cheaper option.

I guess they're hoping the likes of Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Rose, Eriksen, etc. will turn themselves around under a new coach. Alli and Kane have been far from the dynamic duo they were earlier in Pochettino's reign, too.

Even still, Spurs and Levy have to face the music eventually and change up that squad. This reads like a very short term decision because they can't miss out on CL football with that new stadium of theirs needing to be paid off, but beyond that it's the end of one of their more successful projects in recent years.

but where do we draw the line when it comes to Spurs' struggles? Doesn't Poch deserve some blame in that as well. I don't know if i'll be happy with a Poch appointment at Arsenal

While I do think a refreshment of the squad is necessary, the extent to which Spurs has been underperforming, and for quite some time, has been near unacceptable.

There is a reason I've said that Poch deserves about 10 more games (league games) and if it hasn't improved, he should be gone. The team looks like it's being coached by Unai at times. Difficulty in playing out of the back, difficulty in getting Kane involved, difficulty doing anything. And the team is too good to look as bad as they have.

If there is one thing I can say, it's that I can give Spurs credit that they are making a change. They aren't putting up with shit on a stick football like Arsenal.

Of course, I say that while being of the opinion that Poch deserved more time based on the monumental change in philosophy, mentality, and results that he brought the club. He's a skilled manager, clearly. And of course I say that while also admitting that a lot of the issues are front office caused. Bought no RB, no DM, and have continually refused to invest properly in the team.

I feel for Poch. But he'll get an opportunity to work with top teams. Teams who will properly invest. I have to thank him for his service.

I think I can also say that nobody is or should be happy with this. Spurs fans should be fuming. I really think the board has hung Poch out to dry and I find it disgraceful
