Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
Alright well still no deal with the NBA and more games are getting cancelled.
So lets talk college basketball
Time to focus on UConn They had their first game last night against AIC.
A bit of a team preview: No Kemba Walker obviously for 2011-12 as he went to the NBA. And there's not one player that's going to replace him but they can replace his scoring numbers as a group. Jeremy Lamb is ready to step up as the primary scorer, he led the u-19 Team USA team in scoring over the summer with 17 ppg. Shabazz Napier is one of the underrated point guards in the country imo, and he's also one of the best on ball defenders. In fact the entire team should be among the best in the country defensively. FWIW(which isn't much admittedly) Napier had 15 assists, 0 turnovers in the first game and the UConn defense held AIC to two 2-pt FG's for the entire game. And then there's Alex Oriakhi, he'll be in his 3rd year now and I think being moved to the 4 with the addition of Drummond will only help Oriakhi. He'll be a mismatch sizewise with most 4's. He averaged 9.6 rebounds a game last year so him and Drummond will make one of the best 4/5 combos in the country. Drummond won't dominate the Big East imo, just because he's going to face great defenses night in/night out, but I think he's going to have a solid season regardless, average something like 13/8. At the 3 will be Roscoe Smith/DeAndre Daniels. Both are similar players with Daniels probably being better offensively, while Smith is the better rebounder/defender. Although if Daniels proves he can defend at a good level he may be the starter come tournament time.
UConns out of conference schedule is pretty weak, but there's a couple good games and Big East play(the last real season of the BE ever) will be great. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/seth_davis/10/24/Big.East/index.html
There's 3 stacked teams in UNC, UK and UConn that are favorites to be in the Final Four but there's also some really good teams a level below, like Louisville, OSU, Syracuse, Baylor etc. It should be one of the best seasons in recent memory. I think UNC and UK have slightly more talent top to bottom than UConn but it should be a dogfight if they meet in the tournament.

Today is the supposed deadline on the owners offer of 51% revenue sharing, I guess if a deal isn't done today it'll be dropped to 47%.

lol.. Guy can't spell Michael.
On a side-note it has always been sour watching the Bobcats play.

Have you been following MJ's stance? I'm as big a Jordan fan as anyone but he's leading the charge of owners hardlining the players. What Marbury said was harsh and I don't like the word sell out but he's not completely wrong. MJ just doesn't want 51% or 52% of RS for the owners, he wants 57% and that's ridiculous.
Another harsh opinion, but a decent article nonetheless
http://www.suntimes.com/sports/8724334-419/hypocritical-michael-jordan-disowns-his-past.html
And Kemba will be pretty good with the Bobcats, especially if his J keeps improving year to year like it has /obligatory Kemba comment for SPS : D

I like Kemba we are both born on May 8th hope he has a good career. Yep 57% is crazy MJ is a hardliner on both sides. NBA always has the worst lockouts I wonder who is going to be this lockout SK . :hungry:

Still no deal, I am trying to not even care anymore but it's hard.
Anyway tons of good college b-ball games on tonight, UNC and Michigan State are playing on an aircraft carrier in San Diego. Open air game, it's going to look crazy I'm sure.
But I'll be watching UConn raising the Championship banner tonight at home vs Columbia. :king:

From the little I've glanced at this game, they're getting bullied inside by freshmen(Nix is one I think), Zeller especially is having trouble. It's only one half but maybe that front court isn't as great as it was made out to be.
Plus you can usually count on Roy Williams to fvck up come tournament time.
Edit: This game on an aircraft carrier thing is pretty great, they should coast out to sea while they're playing. Would take the game up another notch.

That front court is so soft (passive) and at the same time so arrogant. They need a no nonsense (F* how much I score as long as you don't) type of big man.
Watching the UK game they are so deep this year.

"And my motto is when you get inside the end zone, act like you've been there before." Joe Budden
I love how he didn't even get hyped, that's nothing new for him. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind players getting hyped and celebrating, I just prefer cool and composed.

Yeah, he's a calm dude, which helped him last year in pressure situations.
And Jeremy Lamb is trending on twitter right now, lol. Early season candidate for dunk of the year.

I thought Vandy was a little overrated to begin the year, they're a pretty good team but not the 7th best team in the country. Plus I think they have their starting Center suspended for the first 6 games so that wasn't going to help.

Lebron Gets annoyed at the question.
Love this Lebron commercial with the Rza Beat.
Allen Iverson "would relish the opportunity to play" for the Celtics. Wonder if the C's would pick him up? Harrison Barnes tried to posterize some UNC-Asheville player and he said no-no. Would have been a nasty dunk. :bball:

Lebron was like, "what do you mean 1 on 1, I can't bring D-Wade with me?"
And unless Iverson has changed his mindset of not wanting to come off the bench, I don't think he's a good fit in Boston. I'd take him off the bench though.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
J Lamb's gotta be the best 2G prospect in next years draft at this point, I'd love to see him on the Bulls that would be the perfect situation for him. Celtics to eventually replace Ray would be great too but I doubt they move up to grab him. Raps, Nets could also use him.
And Drummond had a solid game tonight, showed flashes of dominance. Still got a lot to improve on but by the end of the year he's going to be a beast.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
NBADraft.net's updated rankings:
1. Andre Drummond
2. Anthony Davis
3. Jeremy Lamb
4. Jared Sullinger
5. Harrison Barnes
here's the whole mock draft: http://nbadraft.net/2012mock_draft
Bostons probably not taking a PG, and they have Toronto taking Lamb, who's a lot like Derozan, they might be better off taking a PG(like Kabongo, I think he's from TO as well), but I guess if you get the 3rd overall, you take the best player available. They also have Minnesota #1, but I think as it stands now the Clippers have the best shot at getting the #1 overall.
2 out of the top 3, though
In the NBA labor agreement they've been talking(not sure how seriously) about adding a 2 year college rule. That would keep players like Davis, Drummond, Gilchrist, Beal, Q.Miller, and Kabongo in college for another year. Not sure how I feel about that.

T-Wolves... .. literally the Siberia of the league
They have so many trading chips. I expect another top 5 pick out of them.

JaMychal Green at 31. Tyler Zeller 25th? This mock draft seems a little crazy. A two year college rule would make for better games in CBB.
