LeBron right now isnt the same guy that destroyed that Pistons team to get into the finals .... He destroyed every argument about him potentially being GOAT with his own hands ... And yes it looks like he's a great chocker , he stinks in the clutch literally ....

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
see, IMO him being the GOAT was just ridiculous from the get go.
thats the problem I have with the NBA, players get bigged up so much to the point that players of similar quality from years gone by are completely forgotten.
LeBron should never be compared to Jordan period.. they dont play similarly at all IMO... Bron is more of a Karl Malone scorer (w/o the post game malone had) due to his sheer strength and size. Furhtermore, there are at least 25 players I could list that have a better legacy than Lebron, and are better players than he is

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
So, what do well think the Heat have to do to take the next step?
Lets try and keep this as real as possible despite the obvious situation in terms of the cap, lock out and whatever. Lets just assume the Heat will get a MLE.
I personally would strongly consider trading Bron for Dwight Howard, I am being totally serious.
I dont think the Heat would be as good in the reg season, Bron is a beast there, but in the play off's, in tight situations, I have lost faith in Bron and Howards gives you rebounding which they lack (Anthony is a good shot blocker, good defender, but poor rebounder) aswell as a post presence which again they lack.
I can see it, let Wade do this thing, be the man. Bosh doesnt have to even try and be tough anymore, he can shoot jumpers, drive, no more post ups. He doesnt have to shame himself trying to box out either, because he cant, Howard would take care of all that. Miller is a good ballhander and creator and him playing 30mins plus, he will get alot more rhythm and play better. Haslem and Anthony are perfect back ups, literally perfect. Point is still suspect, but all they have to do is run the offence and hit open shots. Like what Kidd does for Dallas but on a lower level. Bibby doesnt have to penetrate, score or dish, just run the offence.
However, I know this wont happen so I will suggest something else.
Their has been major talk about Dalembert. I dont see this a huge upgrade over Anthony, though a clear improvement. He is as good a shot blocker and defender and even rebounder however he lacks physical presence in the lane, he isnt the strongest big man and again he cant score on post ups.
If I was Miami, I would take a risk on Oden or Yao if thats possible.
Both are likely to break down, thats a big problem, however, if they do stay fit, wow. Oden is the incredible rebounder per minute, a good defender and an overall incredible force in the paint defensively. He is foul prone, but so is Tyson Chandler. With Anthony backing him up, we know he is proven a fair role player.
With Yao, you get an incredible post presence. He wont be the player he used to be, I think if fit, 15ppg at most. But he has the best post game of any center, he obviously clogs up the lane defensively, a good rebounder and can also hit jumpers.
Now, both are very big risks, but if they pay off..that could be the difference.
Point is still somewhat weak, but I would consider trading Miller for one. Miller isnt good without consistent minutes, him backing up Bron and Wade, he will never be as good as he can be. Let Jones spot up in the corner and take his minutes, get in a point for Miller.
Who? I dont know. Maybe Andre Miller..put saying that, they will be even worse against a zone defence because he cant shoot a lick. But if they actually let him run the show and have Wade and Bron moving off the ball like they should actually be, then their offence in the half court would be SO much better.
If not, maybe a sign a trade for free agents Aaron Brooks or Goran Dragic. Either of those guys are upgrades IMO.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
I think Joel Anthony is fine for them honestly. He guards the rim like no other in thhe league besides Dwight Howard.
I think the most important thing for them is to get a point guard. As well as Lebron is at passing, he cannot run the offense for them... it just wont work. He tried to facilitate in the finals and he had his worst series.
A point guard, and another Center could do them well. Haslem, Mike Miller, and Mario Chalmers are good off the bench, but u cant have Bosh at C sometimes and u can rely on Haslem at C either.
Dalembert would be too much money IMO. He makes 17 million a season and i dont think that the Heat have that kind of cap room.
*disclaimer: the figure on Dalemberts salary could be wrong, but thats what I remember hearing on the radio yesterday

Joel cant rebound though, plus when you play with him its basically 4 on 5 offensively because he cant score anything other then uncontested lay ups.
I would also argue, yeah, he gaurds the rim well, but I wouldnt call him elite, I put not just Howard ahead of him, but guys like Bynum, Chandler, McGee, Dandre Jordan, Oden (when fit) and maybe a few others.
Dalembert I believe is a fee agent, which is why he being mentioned alot in the media.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
They need a center, preferably a 7 footer, and a PG.
I don't really rate Joel Anthony, Dalembert is better but I don't think he puts them over the edge.
They need to bring back Chalmers definitely, but as their 2nd PG. I'm not sure who's available, not really much out there as far as PG's. Hinrich?
I still can't believe after they signed the big 3 they gave Mike Miller that contract. Haha.
And I think they need to keep Spoelstra too. Some people are calling for Riley to coach next season but Spoelstra wasn't the reason they lost the Finals.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
Maybe Jeff Teague from Atlanta... I think Hinrich has the starting spot there, but IMO teague is better at attacking the rim and is a good point guard overall.
They need someone other than lebron or wade attacking the rim when they arent on the floor
---
About Joel Anthony: I know hes useless offensively, but serioulsy, he is the chief reason IMO their defence is so solid. He stands under the rim and comes out to the perimieter for doubles like lightning. I know hes only 6'10 at the most, but hes a beast in ffront of the rim. Hes worth dirt too, which is necessary for the heat considering they hae the big 3, and the salary cap is coming down.
I also didnt mention Chandler and some others because they either wont move or are too expensive for the heat
---
Deandre Jordan is rumored to go to the Knicks

I dont think there is a good point gaurd out there as a F.A, I would trade Miller for one.
Joel Anthony to me is okay, he has his strengths. But he would be better as a back up, him playing 20 solid minutes would be excellent...not 40.

The HEAT only have the MLE and some Vet mins to use this summer so they are limited in their selections...

You think D'Antoni knows how to use/wants to use a legit center?
He loves to get up and down obviously, Jordan sure is athletic, but none the less, his teams have always played better with powerforwards masquerading as centers, such as Amare, Diaw, Kurt Thomas.

It's very possible that Pringles won't be coaching the Knicks for a full year next year. And they'd be much better off without him.

If a miracle happens and Orlando accept the trade "Dwight for Elis and chips" then GS can easily do it ... but as we all know never trade big for small ...
Since Jerry is nou GS's GM I expect a straight swap with Monta for Luke ... we'll do a Kwame again

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
What do you guys think about the rumored trade between T'wolves and the Lakers: Pau Gasol >< Kevin Love + 2nd round pick (Derrick williams, would be shocked if the cavs dont pick Irving tho)
It's an interesting idea, because in the bigger picture, you reduce cap, you get a versatile wingman that shoot 3's and will be a mismatch for many, and you can make a play for Howard...
still curious who their PG will be..?

Love is nasty. He is a more complete forward than Gasol IMO. he also doesnt have a mega contract like u said so getting howard is also possible.
IMO, though, the safer bet would be to develp Bynum and use the money from the Love deal to get a true PG (CP3) to come to LA

Of course, that would be the other way to look at the deal. the NBA is turning into a guard league so it would be amazing to combo CP3 + Love + Kobe.
Is CP3 a free agent?

I'd take that deal if Clevland passed on Irving , though we might use the pick to trade for Howard ... I'd likely give up on Bynum for him .

LA badly needs a PG imo, and a good one, it's crazy how much difference a PG makes in playoffs nowadays.
trading for CP3 could be great, specially when Nene is on the market...

Wolves would be stupid to pull of that trade with Gasol and Love.....
Love is cheaper, younger, and a monster on almost all aspects of his game...why would trade him. Gasol is aging and he isn't as good aas he used to be.

We didnt really need one up until now ...The triangle doesnt really need PG's like CP3 or Deron . Since Brown said we're not going to run the triangle anymore , yeah we need a PG . Most likely one who can shoot 3's ... we need to spread the floor ..
This is the first summer in a long time that were active before the draft ... if the Gasol for Love/2# happens I'm gonna laugh my arse off all day ... I really hope that happens and that the Cavs pass on Irving , all problems would be fixed then , but this probably isnt gonna happen .
I'd rather trade for Dwight than CP3 ... you dont trade big for small . A Odom/Bynum should be enough for Orlando to trade Dwight and a bad contract to us , since both Bynum and Odom have a team option for the next year ...
