While not all of these are newcomers, I think guys such as The Miz, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk and Alex Riley can go on and become genuine stars. I actually enjoy Del Rio too (I don't think I've mentioned him in the thread yet). They can still tamper with Orton's character to give that extra edge, he already has the technical side taken care of. As for Cena, the heel turn most of the fans are calling for would be a massive shift.

What you need is guys that can put people over, it's like a passing of the torch. That's where some of the older guys (like Y2J and HHH) can still contribute.

On the Ministry, that was an incredible storyline but we will never see that again. It was too unique and any attempt to revive it would fail and be seen as recycling of ideas.

i am not calling for reviving the character ,but we have to admit that we wont see gimmicks like masked kane ,undertaker ,
or some other intimidating stuff like vampiro of wcw and stuff like that..actually feel that cm punk is probably the current biggest hope of wwe..he has succeeded both as a heel an face..also i would like jeff hardy to return to revive punk-hardy feud..it can make a great real life and reel life storyline as well..just saying

NXT Season 1 was great but now it's just embarrassing.

WWE has taken such a big quality drop. Damn seeing those videos of the Attitude Era really makes me sad. Those were the times when sometimes I even used to ditch football to watch wrestling. Some of my favorite moments from the Attitude Era.

The quality of matches have also dropped so much. In the old days, all the matches featured great wrestling, great storyline and was very unpredictable. Nowadays matches are very predictable and meh. Of course there are people who can put quality matches like Christian, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton but the booking limits their matches to 8-12 minutes (counting the endless amount of commercials) 30 minutes are reserved for the one and only Super Cena. His matches are so predicatble

Routine John Cena Match
Phase 1: John Cena dominates
Phase 2: Opponent dominates
Phase 3: John heroically fights back with the Five Moves Of Doom.
Phase 4: Opponent counters the FU, looks to hit his finisher on Cena, fails and gets pinned after getting hit by the FU or taps out to the STF.

DING DING DING YOUR TIMES UP MY TIME IS NOW.

There is no way R truth is gonna win but I hope we see something different than what I wrote above. Happened a 100 times at least.

Phase 2: Heel comes out.
Phase 3: Another heel comes out and gangs up on the face.
Phase 4: Teddy Long comes out, 'Now dat isn't how its gonna work ova here on Smackdown playas, so tonights main event, will be a tag team match ! hola hola! ....

Kurt was great as both a face and a heel IMO.

I really enjoyed that whole "Love Triangle" storyline.

triple h was one of the most overpushed wrestlers IMO..i wished y2j was given the same..i mean in y2j's 2nd coming ,he competes with orton for wwe title and immediately after a few months if i remember correctly he 's competing for the intercontinental title..y2j as face dint work out that well but he will always be one of the best heels in my eyes!!!

Jericho did that that massive push with winning the Undisputed Championship. "I beat The Rock and Stone Cold on the same night." Yeah, Y2J as a heel was excellent but as a face he always gave plenty of funny promos too.

I think HHH was worthy of the push he got, looking at his career before late '99. He and The Rock were a big part of that year 2000 when they really hit the peak. A lot do complain that he gets treatment from the boss, but I may be a little biased because he is one of my favourites.

without a doubt ,HHH is one of my fav wrestlers as well..but what i meant to say is that y2j shud hav had as much as titles as HHH had..see,frm i think 2002-2006 it was pretty much HHH vs the entire wwe roster for the wwe title..they could have made better use of y2j at that time since thr was no more Rock..but instead vince gave scumbag cena and steroid man batista a push !!

Yeah, I guess he could have been given a much better title run through that period. I think the arrival of guys like Orton, Lesnar and Cena definitely stalled his chase for the title, and he was happy to fight for the tag team and IC titles. Evolution was pretty dominant, but they did it did launch careers so I can see some benefits there. Y2J did leave the company for a while too, so that done some damage to his run.

Without doubt, Y2J could have reached a higher level but I can see why they wanted to boost the careers of the younger stars at the time. I guess it depends on who they felt had the better power to carry the company.

pls dont even mention orton , cena and lesnar in the same breath..lesnar is a 'real' wrestler ..think he had more impact than ny one of the new breed of wrestlers..it was a real blow that vince lost him..i was hoping he would come back..but looking at wwe's current state ,thr's an absolutely 0% chance and even the confrontation with taker on UFC means nothing..UFC >WWE nyways.. :coffee:

Definitely, I really wish Lesnar had stayed around. Having Heyman as his hype man didn't hurt either lol.

I also enjoyed watching Angle and Benoit wrestling together, those two put on some brilliant matches.

y2j vs undertaker ??? i think they shud choose sumone else as takers 20th victim ..getting hulk hogan wouldnt have been a bad idea but dont think its gonna happen

Hogan? Sorry, but I just can't see him making it work at all. I actually think Y2J could do well with the Undertaker, he's got the charisma to step up and make it an entertaining feud.

I know we won't see the Big Show of '99 again, but the Big Show in that character would have been perfect I think. At the moment, he is too childish and friendly to the crowd.

Do you remember them as a tag team?
