No, He can still be back up, His best performances have been from the bench IMO.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
lot of talk on david teixeira from the dutch media. plays for fc gronignen (sp?), the team suarez used to play for before ajax. he (teixeira) was raised in the same city as suarez AND cavani. wont be ready for the first team straight away, but this signing looks promising it can be a done deal.

No. Unless an irresistible offer comes in (And no, I'm not not suggesting recouping his transfer fee), there's no reason to sell him now. He was a long term investment, and he still has time to come good. Will he ever be worth 35 million: no. He wasn't worth that when he was banging in goals at Newcastle last year. We simply paid what was needed to ensure we landed him.
On a separate topic, what about these rumors for Mauricio Isla? He's 23, from Chile, and can seemingly play anywhere on the right and as a cm/cdm. He play's wingback/RM in their usual 3-5-2 for Udinese or as the RM in their 4-1-4-1 and 4-4-1-1 options. He has 17 games in Serie A, scoring 3 goals and 1 assist.
He looks promising, as it is addressing a problem position for us. However, he's not the attacking threat I was hoping for on the right side. Then again, he is head and shoulders above Downing in this category for the season...

Have we bought any one so far this window!!! The way things are going, I don't think we will buy any. Even if we do buy, that will not improve the starting XI or the bench.

We should see till end of next season (2012-13) before even thinking about this.
Bellamy, Kuyt & Maxi will either leave or be too old.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
He's shown nothing to suggest he'll be here until 2012/2013. If an offer comes in over 15-20, I could see us taking it. Either it now, or in the summer. It's clear that he does not fit in with the style we want to play and it stops us from keeping it on the ground to long balls upfront.
It would of been okay if he was trying 100% and banging in the goals but he's not, and he's lazy in training (according to Reina) which sort of suggests he doesn't want to improve.
He's scored 2 goals in nearly 20 appearences now. Granted, atleast half of those were on the bench, but that is still not Liverpool standard. He has been highly unlikely at times, but if we want to make top four, we should bring someone with quality instead of a 6 month stint at Newcastle.

We signed Teixeira or Texeira. The one from Sporting. Echo confirmed it.
We're on the urge of signing the one from Holland.
LFC.tv doesn't announce the signings of youth players.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
What style? We've changed approach/formation/style/philosophy just about every month, if not every other game. How can anyone talk about "style" when the team obviously do not have a preferred set up at the moment?ynwa wrote:He's shown nothing to suggest he'll be here until 2012/2013. Re: January Transfer Window 2012
The pass and move is the preferred set up. It always has been bar the odd one out. (Chelsea away and City away from the top of my head.) Up until Carroll's on the pitch until it turns into "hoof and chase". It may not be his fault, but it's always easier getting rid of the problem instead of changing the other 10 players ways. People go on about the ball should be played at his feet, but he can't even control a pass ffs.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
Is it? We've rarely seen it or even what appears to be the ground work for it. Adam doesn't fit it well. Downing and Carroll don't fit it at all. Maxi does, but doesn't get game time.ynwa wrote:The pass and move is the preferred set up. It always has been bar the odd one out. (Chelsea away and City away from the top of my head.) Can anyone really say for certain that they know the coaching staff's preferred playing style? Point me to one person on the forums who is sure of it and I'll show you a liar.

Chances of Carroll turning the corner is greater than getting £15-20 million for him (now or in summer). In fact, we will hold on to him if (or when) he becomes a £15-20 million guy.

What's the use!!! Just another 'for the future'. After Carragher & Gerrard, we only had Kelly & Jay making the leap. Soooo many fell by way-side. BTW, have Pacheco managed any game thus far!!!

Today's wild rumor surrounds another Uruguayan (come next year their national side might just train in Melwood ) . . . . Wild i say because the rumor is regarding Edison Cavani . . . . ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh well its not a crime to dream . . .
Also some rumor about Kuyt leaving in summer. . . outrageous player but i guess by summer it won't be a bad move for both sides . .

Yeah, that would be a dream come true. However, I cannot begin to imagine that happening this window. Napoli is in the knockout stage of the Champions League, and I simply can't see Cavani leaving that behind.
Now, the summer could be a different story. With Napoli currently in 7th place, a Champion's League return is looking unlikely. Given this, it's far more likely that Napoli could cash in on Cavani in the summer. If things remain as they are (with LFC outside the Champions League) it still seems unlikely that Cavani would come. The ONLY thing we can offer is a pairing with his national team partner, Luis Suarez. Frankly, I've always doubted the power of that particular draw for top players.
Honestly, the most I'm hoping for this window is that the rumors for Pablo Hernandez or Mauricio Isla have legs. We need someone to fill the RW/RM position.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
Hernandez could do a job for Liverpool... I was actually suggesting him in the summer. Not sure Isla would offer the side much of anything it doesn't already have.
The Cavani rumours started with footybunker, unfortunately.
