January Transfer Window 2012
Lets start off shall we?
Ghanaian fullback Samuel Inkoom has revealed that he is nearing a January move to Liverpool. The 22-year-old defender plays in Ukraine and would welcome a switch to Anfield, according to Sky Sports.
"My agent is still locked in talks with my club and a scout of Liverpool and a deal could be concluded very soon." He reportedly told Ghana's Top Radio. "Nothing has been decided yet on whether I will join Liverpool on loan or move permanently.
"Liverpool is one of the biggest names in football and so if everything goes well and the Lord allows it, everyone will see where I am going and hopefully, it will be Liverpool, which will be a big step for me."
Inkoom is a regular at right back for his national team. He has made 25 appearances for the Black Stars, including five in its run to the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup.
He started his professional career as a teenager in Ghana, where he played 18 months with Kumasi Asante Kotoko. He then joined Switzerland's FC Basel in the summer of 2009. Last January saw him move to his current team, Ukrainian Premier League club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, for £4.7 million ($7.4 million).
If he joins the Reds, he will compete for the problematic right-back spot in the first team with Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
Liverpool look to have won the race to sign South American sensation Andy Polo - with the teenager expected to arrive at Anfield next month.
A host of top clubs, including Real Madrid and Arsenal, have sent scouts to Peru to run the rule over the highly-rated striker, who made his debut for Universitario aged just 16.
Polo, nicknamed La Joya (The Jewel), has scored three goals in 13 games and has been compared to Brazilian star Robinho.
The teenager is expected to travel to England in November at the end of the Peruvian domestic season.
He will spend a month at Anfield and is then expected to sign a long-term deal to join his South American compatriots Luis Suarez, Lucas and Sebastian Coates.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
We should just look into Newcastle and do our shopping from them....Enrique did turn out good
Tiote would be a perfect competition for Lucas, or they could even both play at the same time
Cabaye is miles better than Adam, so no doubt we nee him
Coloccini could be the perfect partner for Agger....this partenership would be like a stone cold wall.
Ben Arfa would be the perfect star signing for us in the winter window....Replace either Kuyt or Downing on of the wings

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
Dont think Jan would be the right time to splash £50M around. Saying that i do feel we need another top CB. Carra is class, Agger (when fit) is as good as anyone and Coates will needs time to adapt. Skrtel on the other hand has always looked a tad shaky to me

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
If Ajax miss out on the CL knock-out rounds Vertonghen would be top of my list as a target. He's a similar player to Agger but without the injury record. He's also 2 years younger.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
I really don't see us buying a CB in the winter . . but i have got a feeling something big might happen in terms of attacking options . .what i feel we are lacking is the Tendency or Habit to finish off chances, as Amazing & Brilliant as Suarez is he has not been Clinical in finishing . . in the attacking third we have created numerous opportunities but not been able to finish them off.
For me it would be strengthening of the RW or a pure Striker! !

Apart from Coloccini tho they are all on long contracts so be prepared to spend Carroll like money
In reality Ashley doesnt buy us players, John W Henry buys us players

I want Stevan Jovetic........I think he's exactly what we need to take some attacking pressure from Suarez......I know he signed a new contract like two weeks ago and i know we've been tracking the guy ever since he ended our CL dreams in the group stages two years ago...I hope we do whatever we can to sign him.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
I don't think we'll be signing anyone (significant).
We spent a lot in the summer and I can't see it being in the plans of our owners to splash more cash already in January.
ps. Maybe Red-O could change the year in the thread title to correct one, it's annoying x)

I dont think we'll be seeing anyone leaving this January, except maybe Brad Jones and Danny Wilson on loan with some academy players....
Aurelio's contract runs out in the summer so i think we'll see his contract through
Maxi might and probably will leave during the summer as well

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
What would everyone's ideal pick-up during the transfer window be? Not even specific players, but assuming we could spend big money on one position what would you choose?
Personally I'd love to see us get a striker or winger with creativity to match Suarez... Someone else who we can be excited to see touch the ball and other teams will worry about defending against. I think our starting 11 right now is competent enough in each position, but we need something else at the top to inspire the others, create when it seems impossible (see: Stoke game) and creatively be able to take on the defense. I think we have the squad depth we need in terms of players who have the quality to play, so the small patches we're more likely to see aren't as necessary, but we need someone else to lead in terms of skill on the field.

Exactly mate......That's why i would like us to sign Jovetic.....The kid will become great, he's not getting as much attention as some other youngsters but he's got an attacking genius in him that can match Suarez. He's the only thing that's holding Viola up the table this season in Serie A. If you watch him play, this is guy has got the elegance of Zidane, the flair of Ronaldinho, the strength of R9 .....And it's actually possible as we have been following this kid for years.
