Sportitalia guest for the “Primavera Special”, Silvio Brioli, head of Milan’s youth sector explained in detail the work being done at the club paying a special tribute to Rodrigo Ely and also speaking about the derby. Cool

"The Milan youth sector is back doing scouting agains and working from the bottom up, with the youngest players and the Scuole Calcio at the centre of the project. The objective given to us by Adriano Galliani is to find and educate young players in order to ready them to get into the first team and that’s why the main categories play with the same module as the first team.

On Rodrigo Ely: “He’s a very important player for us and is the fruit of our scouting network. We have very high expectations for him because he has everything that it takes to achieve something very special.”

On the derby: “The derby is a game that is completely unique, very emotional both for the management and the players. The derby is a game that everyone feels strongly and it’s very difficult to make predictions because the game is often decided by very small, individual incidents. I remember an Italian cup derby 2 years ago. We lost at home 2-0 and came back in the second leg to beat Inter 3-0.”

MILAN - here's what Piscitelli and Innocenti had to say after today's derby:

RICCARDO PISCITELLI:
"We have to look at the good things we did today to reach the objectives that the team has. It was a derby and so it was a heavy game for all of us. We were up for it and we tried to give all we could, but in football, sometimes you lose. We're a good group with a good attitude but we have space for improvement. We're a tight grouop even though we have some new players."

ALESSIO INNOCENTI:
"We knew it would be a difficult game and we lost it but our adversary wasn't really better than us. We gave away too much and we didn't take the chances that we had. There's still a long way to go and I'm sure we'll end up with a lot of points on the table. Starting from Monday. We have to get back training with our heads held high."

Here's what Aldo Dolcetti had to say after the Primavera derby:

"It wasn't a good game to watch. It was decided by a single event. Milan reacted well after a bad first half and we conceded the goal during our best period on the pitch. We have to put it behind us as fast as possible. You can lose without making mistakes. We played better in the secondn half even if we had some injury problems. I liekd the way the team never lost faith in their abilities. We're sad about Valoti. Today we have three 16 year olds on the field and for the Primavera championship, that's a big thing. The team still has to pull together. I'm convinced that all the players have the mental strength and that's gives me satisfaction."

He's co-owned by Milan and Palermo, playing this season with our Primavera.

MILAN – Milan’s Primavera side have won against Novara. The second leg of the last 16 in the Italian Cup ended 3-1 to the young Rossoneri after the first leg ended 2-0 in Milan’s favor.

Dolcetti’s side were attacking from the start with Comi and El Shaarawy up front. After a number of chances in the first 25’, Milan finally took the lead thanks to captain Bertoni. The second half saw Milan score twice in 13’. Comi scored from a free kick after 12’ and the El Shaarawy got the better of Brambilla in the Novara goal with a shot inside the area. Milan came close to making it four with Calvetti and De Sciglio and at the end of the game, Novara managed to get a consolation goal. Milan will face Cagliari in the quarter finals.

MILAN – The Rossoneri Primavera side have beaten Cesena 3-0 at the Vismara sports centre in Milan. The first goal came after 15’ and was scored by Ferreira who got his head to a corner taken by Carmona. Milan doubled the lead on the half hour mark thanks to Comi who was brought down in the area and converted the resulting penalty. The home team got close to the third goal on 40’ when Baldan hit the cross bar. The third goal came in the final minute of the first half and was scored by Kingley Boateng, his first goal of the season. Comi came close to extending the lead in the second half but a chip from the striker was just wide. Milan then made a few substitutions and controlled the rest of the game without running risks to get their third consecutive win in the league.

---------

Comi also scored a hat-trick in the recent 3-1 away win over Atalanta.

MILAN – Here’s what Aldo Dolcetti had to say after Milan came away from Varese with all three points:

"It was a good game because it was played hard. We deserved the win but Varese showed why they are top of the group. It was a good test that allows us to push on in the championship. Nothing has changed since the start of the season. It’s difficult for the Primavera sides to work with continuity. The team still has a lot of work to do but having some important players back for us made the difference.
El Shaarawy put in a more than good performance. He approached the game well and played intensely helping the team. Innocenti is doing good things and was decisive with our last goal. The others worked well too; we need to push on with humility.
It’s only a muscular problem for Kingsley Boateng, nothing serious. I feel bad for him as he was supposed to link up with the first team on Sunday for the Champions League match away. The team has a lot of room for improvement. If they keep working like this, they can get better as a group and do something good.”
