Jose Mourinho blasted winger Angel di Maria after Real Madrid’s 0-0 draw against Osasuna at the weekend, according to Spanish daily Marca.

The Madrid-based daily claims that the Portuguese tactician told Di Maria that his performances have dipped since he penned a new deal at the Bernabeu; Di Maria is now under contract with Real Madrid until 2018.

"Since you received a new contract you’re performances are worthless", Mourinho is alleged to have told the Argentine winger, in a packed dressing room.

"When you earned less you at least played decent football", he is said to have added.

Mourinho’s relationship with Di Maria is believed to have soured considerably.

The former Benfica player is now no longer an automatic first team pick for the Real Madrid manager.

Mourinho has watched Real Madrid’s La Liga challenge implode spectacularly this season and Los Blancos now sit an astonishing 18 points behind Barcelona in the league standings.

The Portuguese boss has been consistently linked with exiting Real Madrid at the end of the current campaign.

one of the spanish papers is saying he's on man united transfer list for the next season.

mourinho should blast himself sometimes. but i guess it his motivational strategy, if this is true.

he spoke bad about ozil, ozil is our best player right now

fell out with coentrao, he put in a great performance in osasuna and against valencia

left out casillas, casillas looked great in the last two games

di maria on the left is a completely different player. much more productive and its suit his style of play as well.

he looks headless on the right cause he always has to come inside on his left foot straight into defenders. As a left winger, he runs the line, simple. he has speed and dribbling abilities.

He's slightly less headless on the left, however he's still a bit haphazard imo. I just don't think he's composed and intelligent enough. If Man Utd/another team want him, then I think we should sell him.

he looks headless because he keeps his head down when he dribbles and thus dribbles directly into players, passes the ball to the wrong team and runs around in a frenzy 99% of the time.

if a deal is on the table i say sell, but i really doubt mou would do it, it was his signing after all.

Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria is out for two weeks with a leg muscle injury.

Di Maria limped out of Madrid's 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night just before half-time and has undergone a series of tests since returning to the Spanish capital.

The team's doctors have diagnosed a sprained muscle in his left leg and have advised Di Mario not to play for at least a fortnight.

The Spanish club are reluctant to take any risks, as last season saw the former Benfica winger miss approximately 10 weeks with thigh and hamstring injuries.

Real Madrid face Celta Vigo on Sunday before playing Real Mallorca a week later.

I agree with the critic that he needs to score more. he scored 7 in the league last season but has only scored once this season. he shoots alot so that isn't a problem but most of his shots are usually too high or just outside the post. he has his best scoring start in all competitions tho this season

Whenever he plays with Khedira and Carvajal at the same time on the right, he tends to have a great game. Just something I noticed.

That's what I have been advocating all season long

Carvajal should start because he gets the best out of dimaria, he gives him another outlet when he runs out of ideas

he has underperformed in two games this season and both have come with arbeloa on the pitch

It's because Arbeloa is passive as hell. Rarely makes a decent run.

When Carvajal plays he gives Di Maria another passing option out wide while cutting inside instead of becoming isolated and be forced to shoot or force a pass in the 6 yard box.

Angel di Maria has made clear that his focus is on fighting for continued playing time at Real Madrid, amid rumours of a move away.

The Argentine is seen as having grown increasingly unhappy during the first half of the season for a diminishing role in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, behind Gareth Bale.

However, after deputising for the Welshman on Sunday against Valencia and opening the scoring with a notable strike, the 25-year-old reflected that his mind is set on team affairs only.

“I never asked for a renewal. All that has been said about my desire to not continue at Real Madird is a lie,” asserted Di Maria to reporters after yesterday’s 3-2 win at Mestalla.

“I am happy at Real Madrid because I am at a team where the Coach has me in mind - when there is a space in the team, I start.

“When a footballer is signed for €100m, it is to play, but the important thing is that I am in mind.

“I have to keep doing things well in these matches and in training. I am thinking about Real Madrid and I am still working hard.

“The Coach and everyone around me knows. I have to keep going and try to earn a place in the team.

“The important thing is to continue here, I'm very happy.

“In the summer there was a lot of interest in getting me to leave Real Madrid, but I was just thinking about staying here and doing well at this club.”

The winger was asked about his particular goal celebration, where he sucks his thumb.

“I celebrate the goals for my daughter and to show that I am still fighting for a spot in the starting XI.”

Lol at the fact some madrid fans think hes going to leave. Even if we get pogba, tell me another class midfielder whos willing to sit and rotate on the bench? not once has di maria complained and he got his chance after just a few games.

Ww need to forget his reputation as a player who makes lots of ill-thought decisions and give him the credit he deserves.
He keeps getting better at his position and he seems to be the most important player in how bland formation.
He makes the mediocre formation look like a brilliant one with the way he links the midfield with the attack and still finds strength to track back to help out the defense.

His decision making has improved drastically and I could just imagine how much he would have improved in his new position by next season.
