The tactical defending is dumb and really pointless, people are saying oh it makes it much harder, but think about this, when u play online and a player scores a goal , he will sit with the posession if he wants for the rest of the match, and u cant get it since u only press not charge. I think its dumb because most of the time ur just trying to run back trying to get a the ball, now u have to do all this gay pressing and shit. Trust me, u will all hate it when u start playing against people...best option

Turn legacy defending on for alll modes, even online.

SO far what I've gather from this thread is basically, "I'm not very good at the new defending system, so it sucks!" Very Happy

That was'nt my excuse, i just didnt notice a difference........

Besides i have always sucked at defending i rely on my ability to be very efficient upfront Very Happy

Basically, that's the same vibe I'm getting. I'm seeing the same comments everywhere, I don't really understand it. Playing the computer is going to be difficult at first, but once you settle down and get a feel for things it becomes easier. You will still be able to pressure the ball, it just won't be as simple and honestly I'm up for the challenge.

Word on the web is that skills moves will be harder to accomplish (I'm sure one reason is because people won't be able to just run at you while holding A). The game feels so smooth and real to me, I feel like the game play is going to play more realistic.

I know someone mentioned that headers seem more realistic. I agree, in past Fifa games there were many ways to glitch your way to winning headers. I think it's going to be a good Fifa year.

Who really has ages to spend defending? Its not that im not good at it, even if i was, its the fact u cant charge in and take the ball, this jocking system has its flaws and they will be exposed down the line...

It's called the sprint button and the analog, you just can't run in using the A button. They have taken away you ability to automatically run into the opposing player, what's so wrong about that? You are now able to run in and when you feel you're close enough you press B, you can even reach your arm out with B and disrupt your opponents shot.

The A button will place you in a proper/better position to block a shot or cross. Both players will be forced to deal with the same learning curve, some will catch on quick than others, but overtime there is no reason someone can't learn this system.

Not sure if I read this here or not, but this year if you hold RB (Xbox) R1 (PS3) your player will do a back-heel or a no look pass. If you click select during the game you will become the goal keeper.

I use a bunch of skill moves and I think this year as always the difficulty will depend on who you're playing against. My friend is over now and I'm having fun with that new dribble (Hold LT and Click the Right stick back and then right or left)

I score goals using RB+A with full manuel controls. Razz

It's actually kind of ridiculous how you can just pull off backheel and flick passes with everyone.

My advice to anyone struggling with Tactical Defending: don't bother with trying to contain. Configure your controls so that A/X is tackle, and B/O is call for secondary pressure. Made things a bit easier for me.

Turkish league and NT is gone also. Only Galatasaray (spelling) survived there in the rest of the world section. There are a few new national teams though.

I wont lie, for someone who hasnt played yet like myself this is the exact impression im getting.

Maybe guys (I dont exclude myself yet seeing as I have not played) just too used to sprinting around and smashing the X button.

I see this Tactical Defending as being extremely frustrating online. One fck up and it could cost you the game.

I played my friend today and it was amazing in certain situations, but it's a double edged sword.
I pressed O (ps3) because I thought I still had my alternate config and ended up doing an awkard step leaving a gap for my friend to score.

So I get what you mean.

I believe there's a new Argentine squad in the rest of the world section. And to answer your second question I honestly believe it comes down to licensing not laziness, like some people like to believe.
