Is it true Raul was sold to give CR the number 7 jersey or was some guy taking the piss? (He wasn't on this forum.)

No it's not true. Jose offered Raul a role similar to Materazzi at Inter, but Raul wanted to play more as he thought it was early of a 'half-retirement' and bench warming(and he still has the ability to play top football). So Raul and Real Madrid thought it would be best for his career to leave the club(which I thing is a mistake).

Ahhkayy. Thanks for the clear up. Thumbs up

He is good off the ball but not great. Usually midfielders and defenders have the best off the ball movements since they have to anticipate their opponents moves more.

It's funny, one day people are slamming Ronaldo for only scoring tap-ins, the other day they don't want to call his off the ball movement great.

Either Ronaldo doesn't score tap-ins or he do have the best off the ball penalty area movement in the world. Considering he outscore pure strikers like Raúl, RVN, Milito and Klose (even when in their prime) with a huge margin. He have scored over 100 goals (including pre-season goals) in the Madrid shirt in a little over 2 years ffs...
