germany can stop spain

wouldnt the next european cup be boring if spain wins again??? germany can beat them. low should put lahm, pigrider, khedira and ozil in midfield like a forest of legs. nothing personal against badstuber but he is not worthy of the national team. whoever else but not him in defence.
with some luck they will knock out spain. ideally, they meet bella italia afterwards with the usual outcome or win it. I dont mind if they do.

I agree with the title of the thread, but the explanation is kinda ridiculous. Never thought i would hear someone suggest Lahm as a CM.

even pepe didn't do that well at the world cup as the "false cb" against spain, only became the benchmark of performance against barcelona (and by extension spain, let's not kid ourselves) after he was allowed to stomp on everybody in his sight for 3 consecutive games

he's also easily outmuscled and has absolutely zero experience of running horizontally along the width of the pitch, something that's absolutely essential for a dm, but let's just skip over that...

Lahm is not a cm, he is a kickass fullback who has all you need for this position... he is good to run along the lines or cross in the middle at the left side, at the central position he would suck extremely

I still think there's no point to it. We need Lahm at FB, and what you want from Lahm as a CM, Piggy can already do. If you want more of that, get a Bender beside him, and nothing will get through.

I still agree that we can stop Spain (not confident enough to say that we will, though ^^) - but we need Lahm as a FB too hard to pull any of that shenanigans, especially when we have a ton of great to world class CMs and DMs to choose from.

or they can just not experiment, play lahm as he's pretty much the only proper rb they have, and play one of the millions of the cm/dm they already have like ballack, rolfes, benders, whoever...

you are a hopless optimist. other deep midfielders in germany have two left foots. does spain someone very dangerous on the left?? no. you dont need lahm, he is too talented to be wasted on the right against spain.

What will Piggy + Lahm at DM accomplish that Piggy + Bender wouldn't?
Also Lahm can still always cut towards the center, but we just don't need him there. If we start pressing high up the pitch we'll win the midfield battle anyway, weird as it sounds. I just think that by 2012 we don't have the weaker midfield.

Just because Germany is growing at an alarming rate, Espana is the same if not much more.

Last I heard, Germany got beaten by us in the Euro and WC.
