How exactly are they gonna want to join if they can't see the topics?

Would you want to join a forum if you could at least read some of the topics first?

Doesn't make a lot of sense. Contrary to popular belief, some of those lurkers do end up actually joining.

the forums are better to be stayed open so ppl can read them from outside so they can see how it is here and how much members there are so they can decide to register ...
