Why are there so many guests ?

In total there are 99 users online :: 31 Registered, 4 Hidden and 64 Guests

I was on another forum, a Juventus one based in Italia, and they had a neat feature. You went onto the forum, and it would have a dialogue-type box where it would ask you if you wanted to sign up, and gave a little brief summary of the site, etc. and if you wanted to, you could do so, but if not, you could just exit it and continue browsing as a guest.

Any way to do this ? I mean, it is the best of both worlds. You do not constrict guests from viewing and checking it out, but at the same time, you increase the chances of expansion on the forum.

Just a suggestion because I was noticing the forum has gone down quite a bit in traffic from what I remember.

the reason the site has gone down on traffic is the chatbox.... we used to get 100 of threads on Matchday in the General Section....not that much anymore...

But I mean even in the general section. Seems to be a lot less posting in general though, and it is relatively quiet at times.

The chatbox is not directly tied to the apparent drop in traffic.

The number of new users and posts in general have dropped because we have moved out of the honeymoon period where the forums were new and fresh for everyone. People are now dropping back into their normal posting habits and have other parts of life taking up more time with school or work.

I fourth this...though this has run off a bit of a tangent.

I agree though with Red, I find myself posting a lot less now because the honeymoon period is over and I am dropping back into the routine of school.

Juve section died, the forum is dying because of it. We played a majority of the posts, topics, and members. Oh well, tobad so sad.

Unfortunately a lot or people who posted a lot didn't know how to not get banned and wait out their bans...

I'm saying if we host an ultimate team tourney we could get a lot of people from EA sports FIFA forums to join

IMO we have witnessed this big drop because we didnt act on all those interesting plans we had when we first created the forum. Some people thought of writing articles (I dont agree with that, but w/e), creating highligh videos (we have people who are very good at that), extensive marketing campaigns (on twitter, fb, even spamming goal.com lol).

I think we really need to do some of these things, not only will it give the forums another level but also create a stream of new members. If we dont do that, we are essentially a closed community, unlike the old goal.com forums. We will eventually stagnate and die, and nobody wants that.
