Last season it wasnt Rooney, not at all. But overall, right now, the best player in the league is Rooney. But it isnt stand out.

I'm going to go with Rooney.

Last year wasn't his best but in the second half of the season he was excellent, providing and scoring.

The seasons before that though he's also been excellent.

It's close though, because I think Fabregas and Tevez are close contenders. Fabregas needs to do it more in big games, Tevez has only recently stood out.

Rooney's quite underrated because he's ugly/English/man-whore, but I would say he's one of the best strikers in Europe atm.

It's between Rooney and Vidic in my opinion, RVP is one of those cases where he can be World Class if the circumstances are perfect, at least that's what Arsenal fans all think.

Arsenal fans "thought so" but RVP "proved" it last season. Its not what Arsenal fans think anymore, it has been proven by him when he scored 18 goals in half a season.

Yes, yes if we were holding a competition of who could score the most goals in half a season Van Persie would win...but the EPL plays full seasons, and Van Persie is physically incapable of playing a full season, so while you can marvel all you want about "Look how much Van Persie scored in only half a season!" please don't dare try to imply that should Van Persie play a full season, he could score twice as many goals (or anything like that) because we all know that he cannot, in fact, play a full season

Rooney is the best player in the EPL, no question, his playmaking skills are very underrated despite the fact hes a WC finisher and has the vision of scholes.

Also to be fair, Nani is maybe the most skillfull player in the EPL
