That article has no word on Cahill.. I think a deadline day cut price deal for Cahill is our most likely route, Samba can sod off and Jagielka's valuation is too high for Wenger..

I have a feeling Fabregas is staying.. He is now training with the youth squad instead of alone at the gym.. And apparently, hes been saying at social events that he isn't relocating to Spain.. This weekend is the transfer deadline for Barca and I don't see them stumping up the cash..

I don't think Fabregas would be fit for the Newcastle game, and instead of rushing him, we should look to ensure his fitness for Liverpool and OT games.. Even the Champ League qualifiers should be okay w/o him.. So lets not get our hopes up for seeing him at the Emirates Cup or at Benfica.. Doesn't necessarily mean that he is leaving us

If this true and we are on verge of buying mata then imo it will be for one of this reasons:

1- Nasri won't sign a new contract and Wenger wants to find his replacement first so he can sell him

2- Walcott's injury will rule him out for a long time

3- cause Girvenho is going to the AFCON so he might get back injured/exughsted

4- Cesc and Nasri is not leaving this year but they will next year , so he want Mata to get used to the Ebl fast with no pressure

5- Wenger wants to do a City

I'm not sold on Mata being a Fabregas replacement.. Wenger never does like for like substituitions in the squad, he looks to add something extra..

1 -> Seems the most likely reason.
2 -> No. Wenger doesn't panic buy.
3 -> No. Wenger won't splash for a player for such a scenario, he'd rather think about that situation in the winter window..
4 -> Ideal case, what I personally wish is the case, and what has the least likelyhood.

Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel intends to fly to London next month to discuss the possibility of another loan deal for Japanese starlet Ryo Miyaichi with Arsenal.

The 18-year-old winger impressed on loan at De Kuip last season after signing his first senior deal with the Gunners in the summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has indicated he could include Miyaichi in his squad this season, with the youngster having already joined the North Londoners on their pre-season tour of Asia.

But Van Geel is hoping the tactician can be persuaded to loan the Japan Under-19 international out for another campaign.

"Arsenal are waiting for a yes or no on the application of a work permit for Ryo," Van Geel explained to Voetbal International.

"In mid-August, they hope to obtain an answer about it and I'm actually planning to fly to London."

Van Geel had previously stated Miyaichi could be surplus to requirements at Feyenoord this season due to the presence of Sekou Cisse and Jerson Cabral, who primarily play on the left wing.

But after consideration the Dutchman admits versatile Miyaichi would help bolster other areas of his attack.

"We're not so strong in terms of our attackers," he added. "Ryo can actually deal with all positions up front.

"In regards to the left wing, that is doubly occupied. But for all other places up front we could do with strengthening."

Mata rumours are gathering pace but I still don't think it's happening. I will be surprised if we do.

Just putting in my view but I don't see why we have to sell Nasri and Fabregas to get him. No one knows what our budget is, it's all speculation until it comes from the word of AW, hell maybe we have another 60m sitting in the back. However the more worrying thing is that we've come to a point where we expect our best players to be sold and replaced, why can't we keep them 2 and buy Mata. Yes we're in a self-staining model but why can't we fund it by selling the "deadweight" which reduces the wage total by a large amount compared to Mata's wages.

We are a big club if we had to sell to buy, I think it would be more to the point that we have too many wingers if we have Miyaichi possibly gaining a work permit, which would mean we have about 3/4 excellent options for each wing. Wenger wouldn't want to "kill" the youth either.

And about Nasri, I really hope we do keep him for another year to see if Mata is a risky option, and he's underrated by Arsenal fans, overrated by the media, that's the way I would put it. Yes he needs to improve his assist count but everyone in the team needs to improve in some form, Wilshere with goals and assists, RVP + Cesc fitness etc. and some of the hate he has received is totally unjustified just because he doubts where the team is going/having low-ish wages, Cesc/RVP/Nasri should be in the top band of pay working down from there.

I'm prepared to keep him for this year especially since he carried the team for 3 months like RVP did for 5, and I don't want to see a player like that go yet. A player is never bigger than a club, but an excellent team needs excellent players and he fits into that band.

Dinamo Zagreb director of sport Zoran Mamic claims Arsenal have deemed Croatian starlet Mateo Kovacic too expensive to sign.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is hot property in Croatiahaving burst onto the scene in Zagreb late last year.

Mamic says Arsene Wenger's side rate Kovacic highly but believe the youngster, who has previously been linked with Ajax, Juventus and Bayern Munich, would be out of their price range if Dinamo decide to sell.
