Re: Euro 2024
If Southgate wins the euro with the England he will be most hyped and sought after coach for a few minutes or so. I am rooting for a Spain though. Very pleased how to tournament turned out to be.

Re: Euro 2024
Well it took until the semis for Gareth to play Foden in the right half space and he had his best game of the tournament against Netherlands. Unlucky with a shot hitting the post, and another being cleared off the line.
That being said, I think England played well that first half, but it was probably more of a consequence of Netherlands off-the-ball spacing being poor. There's a reason for the drop-off in the second half. Koeman adjusted some things defensively.
I think the key for England is to find Foden and Jude high in the half-spaces. They drop too much to receive the ball because they aren't getting it high enough. But with Spain having a more open defensive structure you'd think this is the kind of game where Foden and Jude can be found.
Spain have been far and wide the best team in the tournament, and thoroughly deserve to win it. England have rode their luck a lot. Aside from the first half against Netherlands they haven't been convincing. They've been reliant on last minute winners/tying goals and penalties. You'd think their luck finally gets found out and Spain teaches them a footballing lesson, but it's a final and anything can happen. Should be a good game regardless.

I remain cautiously optimistic but I'm sure Northgate visited some shaman before the game so I would watch out for that.

Re: Euro 2024
Laporte has been CB of the tournament for me. If you ever wanted to see how a CB should build up play from the back watch him against France. Monstrous performance.

Re: Euro 2024
Can England overcome the Kane curse?
Lamine not been effective this half. Shaw has been very good.
Foden as usual just a passenger.
This is essentially Spain against Bellingham's hardwork. Nobody else has done diddly squat

Re: Euro 2024
Did I miss anything that Bellingham did?
Lamine and Nico both had been poor. This is the reason I don't like kids talking too much until winning anything. Rodri had been like Rodri. Spain should move the ball faster in the English defense.

Re: Euro 2024
Oh no, Rodri hurt. On that save from Kane I guess? That would have been a goal 100%.
Big loss for Spain. Zubimendi is a great player though, let's see what he can do.
